How To Push Start A Manual Car (Explained). In this video tutorial I will show you how to push start a manual car.

Here’s how to do it:
On a manual car that requires a key.
 Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position. Doing so unlocks the steering wheel, letting you steer your vehicle. If there’s residual power, the dash lights will come on.
 Press the clutch and put your car in second gear.
 Release the parking brake. However, leave your feet on the brake and clutch if you’re on a slope or incline. Refer to your manual if you can’t find your car’s parking brake.
 Slowly lift your foot off the brake if you’re on a slope. Doing so lets your car roll. If you’re on a flat surface, get someone to help you push.
 When your car reaches 5mph, lift your foot from the clutch to connect the spinning wheels to your engine's crankshaft, which starts the car. It's worth noting that the faster you're moving, the more likely the engine starts. However, keep the speed under 10mph to ensure you're still in control.
 After the engine starts, press the clutch, shift to Neutral, press the brake pedal, and let your car run for 15 minutes, giving the alternator time to charge your battery.
 You could also drive around. However, do not switch off the engine before your battery charges.

On a manual car with a start/stop button
 Press the start/stop button to switch on the ignition.
 Press the clutch and shift into second gear.
 Release the parking brake. If you're on a slope, the car will start rolling.

However, if you're on a flat surface, ask someone to push.
 Wait for the car to hit at least 5mph before lifting your foot off the clutch. Your engine should start.
 Once it starts, you can drive around so the battery can charge. Alternatively, press the clutch, shift to Neutral, then press the brake pedal to stop the car. Let it run for 15 minutes so the alternator charges your battery.
