EXCELLENT BPM03. I have a 92 buick lesabre. i ordered a new starter because i was tired of jumping my solenoid on the ground with a screwdriver. installed the new starter and I'm still jumping the solenoid with a daggone screwdriver. i thought about my relay, and 2 other shade tree mechanics said "NO, that aint it". They both said its that "rod" in the steering wheel shaft. So they both said, Man all you gotta do is put a switch on it. I just had to find a video to know what and how to wire it. Sounds good and easy. Your video will be my teacher. I appreciate this info.

I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota I got from my neighbor. They wanted it gone and I was interested in a second car. Eventually, it developed a problem where it wouldn't start easily in Park. I installed a push-button switch to create a short between the positive battery terminal and the starter solenoid so that it would, at least, turn over. Been using it ever since. AND it's been a year now. I mainly using it for emergency weather situations and when a neighbor wants to get rid of something big. Paid for itself when I brought home a faulty Hisense 55" TV (worth probably $250 brand new) and a clogged Shark Rocket vacuum (worth $250 according to Amazon) and fixed them both up.

Ok ok I got it I run a wire from the pos side of battery with a fuse attached and then one from the starter shit my pants and push the installed button/switch got it! THANKS

What about on a Ford with a starter solenoid? I’m trying to do this because I ave to start truck Every time with two screwdrivers touching the starter solenoid. I just ran a wire from each terminal of the solenoid to a button but it seems it’s not dry enough power so I just bought thicker gauge wire does that make a difference?

i wired my pathfinder just like you did in this video. But the way it's wired now if you push the start button with the key off the ignition the starter will still crank but engine will not engage. A good idea is to install an on/off switch to the start button.

Does the push button have a rating? And what size fuse did you use?

aww man, my turn key tumbler wont even turn on acc? No power at all. Read somewhere that I can use the acc, ign and pwr wires from my ignition switch harness under the dashboard. maybe use two switches, one for acc, one for starting. What would you recommend in this case? Thanks!

I want to do this but its hard to access the starter. Can the wiring be done through the starter relay?

Ok I can the wire go to the Solenoid on the fender wall or does it have to connect to the starter ? And what size wire would you run. I have a 1982 F 100 ??
