If you buy a legit car that has been cheaply taken care of but you want to spend a moderate amount on it (oil, tune up and fixes) then this is great. Push button start with will make the car slightly more awkward to steal once the panels are buttoned back down. Turning a screwdriver or tire repair tool to start a car puts the gas station attendants and nosey jerks on high alert so a push button is the best of both worlds you don't have to take the key in and out and you can still start it without raising anyone's suspicion. Also if you're installed one it also lessens suspicion because you wouldn't waste money on something nice like that if it was a throw away stolen car. That is why I'm doing mine, my car was neglected but now I'm nursing it back to normalcy. I'm missing a few wires though. Don't see a ground or Key On. 1. I mean ACC and Key on 2 makes sense to me not sure what Key On. 1 is for... Also have to figure out how to tap the brake wire to the clutch one I'm guessing.

You could always just super glue your key in the ignition and have a “turn to start” set up.... same principal

HA! I'm sitting here waiting for Amazon to deliver my Start/Stop unit for my Stratus so I thought I would check Youtube for some videos, and what do I find? Thank you for the clear explanation and for showing the wires, I wasn't sure which one was the starter wire from the ignition switch, but I see you have yours hooked up the the yellow wire. Also, I never even thought of the shifter lock-out, so I disconnected the cable like you showed. I was actually wondering what the cable was for. I want to keep the barrel in the column in case the Start/Stop button poops out. Thanks for the great video. Thumbs up!

Nice video! when you remove the ignition key cylinder should the power be on or should you disconnect the battery? aslo after its removed will the steering wheel stay unlocked? would like to do this in my 2012 camaro Thanks

Great job explaining. I am still considering this upgrade, nd had not thought of the transmission lock until you mentioned it. I drive a truck with trans on the column nut will still have that prob, but it makes not sense to do this and leave the key cylinder as part of start up. Thanks

+Mizta Shy I installed this on my truck, started the accessories and everything but the engine. This happened the very first try. After that I can only hear the beeps and the button lights up everytime I step on the break, even while driving. Any clue?Any help would be very appreciated.Thanks.

You could mount the shifter lock cable to the brake light switch area, so the brake pedal has to be pressed to shift out of park! 👍

Can this kind of installation work on Chrysler Neon 2004? Since my ignition Actuator that connects to the ignition switch is broken, i have installed a temporal push-start directly from a battery positive terminal and starter. Works fine but i do not like the way installed this.
