OMG this has just got me out of a pickle … 2015 Honda Jazz has started to do this straight after changing battery in key fobs 🤔🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ Booked in to get looked at next week… but I definitely notice it when the brake is depressed.. when it does this (not start) brake pedal goes rock hard… and I have to sit and wait for ages before it will restart 🤦🏻‍♀️ happened across this video and it got me going… thank you so much ❤

Thanks Kelly-Anne. This trick works on my 2017 Santa Fe XL. This is the 4th sensor issue that I've had with this car and it only has 135, 000 km. My question is.. if this problem is intermittent, say once ever 5-10 times when you start the car, is it worth paying a lot of money to replace the sensor or should you just go with not pushing the pedal and holding the start button for until the car starts (20-30 seconds), as demonstrated by Kelly-Anne? Appreciate any comments from anyone who knows of this issue with Hyundai.

Do you have any advice on a 2013 Equus? I was in traffic and it died. The engine quit. No warnings at all! I still have battery power for the dash, door locks, lights, etc. There is no clicking noise for the starter. We tried jumping it and it would not start. Checked the 4 fuse boxes and they are fine. The cooling fans runs. The security system works. The flashers work. It just won't start.

Okay but what is the cause and the permanent fix? Is this a dead battery in the car or in the key fob?

Also if the battery in key fob is dead, just put the key fob directly on the push button and step on the brake then push button with key fob on the button and it might start.

Does this work on a 2011 Kia Sportage? Had the recall service completed about 6 months ago(replaced faulty sensor/switch located on brake pedal) and car is starting to intermittently not start, because it is not recognizing the brake pedal is pushed(brake lights light up when pressed and brakes are functioning properly, put car in neutral and braked to stop the car). Someone mentioned in the comments below that their power steering was "out" and downhill brake assist was "out" is that common when trying this manually override?
