I think excluding the episode where Picard is forced to live out an entire lifetime in a simulation brought on by an ancient probe was a mistake. That was a big portion of his character development. Even Star Trek Picard's opening song includes the flute as an homage.

Q letting the federation know before hand about the borg. I wonder if he had not intervened how the timeline would of gone. Would the federation refused to exist. Would there of been an alliance between the klingons and romulans as well in order to come together to fight a greater adversary.
