Iconic Star Trek actor Patrick Stewart has announced that he will once again portray Jean-Luc Picard in a new Star Trek series on CBS All Access. Greg takes a look back at the history of the popular Starfleet captain.

wont lie, id kind of love a prequel series that is about him growing up and going to school and just starting out in star fleet.

A longer, multi-episode story arc with more Locutus the Borg would've been interesting. They already had enough "temporary" characters and background elements installed, it would've been workable. Assuming they'd prolonged the Borg advance on Earth, maybe centered a few episodes around the battle of Wolf 359, maybe got those oft-mentioned "en route" Klingon ships involved, etc. Seeing the destruction and losses firsthand would make the Borg threat more visceral, see Locutus function as their mouthpiece would make him seem more dehumanized and make his recovery/rescue have more meaningful impact than merely restoring the episodic routine with the conclusion of another season-bridging "To Be Continued" cliffhanger.

Please, please let this show be a hopeful look at what humanity can be. In other words, let it be Star Trek and not some gritty interpretation of the modern world with warp drive.

Since it's going to be on CBS All Access, I'll only ever see it if it's a bootleg.
They've already destroyed the Star Trek name, so I'm not too inclined to watch it anyway.
