I just love Q. He has that complex character in him that tells people at first "a carefree dork" but the next moment can be the most severe person in the room. Teaching when needed, yet makes sure to have fun with whoever he is with even at his own expense.

I never really understood Q dying.

Q existed in non-linear time AKA immortal. So Q could travel to any point in time, including traveling before his death. So it doesn't make much sense. Unless when a Q interacts with a mortal his fate becomes linear with that mortal and can never appear to them again. So Q died in Picard's perception of time, but Q is also immortal, so he's able to appear throughout the universe still?
