Lorth Needa was a human male who served as a lieutenant commander of a Carrack-class light cruiser, and later captain of the Imperial Star Destroyer Avenger, a ship assigned to the Sith Lord Darth Vader's Death Squadron, during the Battle of Hoth. In the midst of the battle, Needa successfully engaged several fleeing Rebel transports, but it was his pursuit of one—Captain Han Solo's Millennium Falcon—that sealed his fate. After a lengthy chase, the Avenger had the Falcon in its sights before Solo suddenly changed course and charged the Star Destroyer's bridge, only to disappear from its sensors. Not knowing how the Falcon could have eluded him, Needa decided to take responsibility for the situation and personally apologize to Vader, who killed him as punishment for losing the ship.

Round of applause for Captain Needa. Knowing full well how "forgiving" Vader can be, he immediately assumed all fault, sparing his subordinates. Mad respect.

Well at least Darth Vader was kind enough to accept his apology after all “there is still good in him, I can feel it”

One of my favorite things about Battlefront II is when you're using Vader's TIE Advanced, if someone hits you and then you turn around and destroy them, he says "Apology accepted" in the same tone.

He THINKS he can choke you to death with the force. (Letting you in on a little secret; he can't). We all PRETEND to strangle to death. Vader gets the satisfaction of killing someone; while we get to remain among the living!

0:24 even in death, his corpse still helps others

Anyone else feel bad for Needa? Even though he was working for the Empire he still was willing to take responsibility for the good guys escaping even if it meant he'd probably be killed. That's a good thing in my book.

*Capt. Needa:* I'm sorry Lord Vader, the Millennium Falcon has disappeared

kinda proves how dysfunctional the empire is. The one competent officer we see on screen besides Piett is killed in a fit of pique even though he did his job and the other guy only gets spared because Luke is distracting the guy

Vader whenever Admiral Piett fails: “don’t sweat it too much; it’s all good! You can do better next time!”

Vader whenever Captain Ozzel & Needa fail: “WHY YOU LITTLE!!!”

I think Anakin missed his old battalion from the clone wars during this chase 😅

It almost seems as though Needa's death was meant to be an example more for Piett than the former.

Everyone onboard Vader's stardestroyer. "Can we get off this stardestroyer and work for someone else please? We don't want to work for Darth Vader anymore." (Runs away while Darth Vader is walking into the room.) "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"

Well it's best getting murdered by Vader then getting murdered by the emperor sidious. As Darth sidious likes to zap people, watching them cook. The man is not so forgiving as Vader is. I feel bad for Captain Needa though.

I like how after vader delivers the line he puts his hand up like "Some body get over here and clean this up"
