I am sure there are instances where surgery is not indeed necessary. However I am post 4 months hip FAI arthroscopy surgery and so happy I went through with it. My hip and groin pain is completely gone and have no regrets from getting my surgery. No one knows you better than yourself do what is best for you.

This story is exactly the same as mine! Just finished my first 5km run after a year of physio work after an FAI diagnosis. I thought I was doing “prehab” for surgery and now I wouldn’t even think about it!

I just found out yesterday that I have this...after four months of intense pain and no one listening to how I’m feeling, I was finally sent for an X-ray and got an answer! Thank you for this video, I am new to this journey and super scared, so this helped a lot

Not a word on what to do on fixing it, all I hear is I, I, I, the whole time

Thank you so much for this. As someone who has to deal with a pinching pain every time I sit, this is so encouraging.

Thanks for sharing. 35 year old male, recently been diagnosed with FAI, been depressed, cant play golf or workout and yeah, just laying in bed causes pain. I start PT next week and also plan to fix this without surgery. Nice to hear you have it under control now.

My gut cancelled surgery as well. I’m grateful for this video . I will start my road to recovery too! Thank you 🙏

I have this too. I've declined surgery also because it doesn't make sense to start cutting into bone. Only going to weaken the joint further. Then it fails again and you need a total replacement. Doctors only see $$$$ and their eyes light up. Modifying my lifestyle has alleviated pain. One aspect of this is explaining to people what you're going through and no one seems to really get it or care. It's a mental battle as well as physical.

Wow... I'm glad I'm not the only one who was deeply affected by this issue. Having healed with banded mobilization of the joint and everything else recommended, I set personal records doing the exercises that caused issues initially...

if you have FAI it means a bone spur or abnormal bone is hitting your labrum because the joint cant move in the socket properly. i could do full splits flexible af. doesnt stop the abnormal bone. if you dont get surgery and want to do sports you will need a hip replacement. get the surgery.

I'm 30 and your symptoms are exactly what I am experiencing and the doctor didnt even catch it. She thinks it's just tight hips but I knew something was wrong.

My hip impingement ruined my muay thai training. I didn't know what it was and thought I was developing arthritis. So I had to stop. If I tried to kick at hip level or higher, it felt like the ball of my femur was grinding right off my pelvis and if you haven't felt it before, it really hurt.

28 year old woman here. Thank you for this. I needed this to know I am not alone and that I actually have possibilities besides getting surgery

This is great to hear but its completly specific to you only. Most people have hip issues and labrum tears and never have any issues.
Some have debilitating pain and dysfunction. Surgery done early in the injury timeline almost always returns full function within a year. (surgery + rehab)
Conservative therapy may take years to reduce pain and moderatly improve function. Which would you prefer and why is up to the individual.
Unfortunatly delaying surgery leads to worse outcomes in the very long term as opposed to having surgery early.
Do not take medical advice based an 8 min YT video selling any kind of classess/programmes.

I discovered I can do squats leaning on a short stool, which is excellent for getting the ball & socket joint back together. To lead up to this, I did a kneeling exercise, leaning on the stool and also did planks.
