When I do explosive pull ups, I end up using momentum after 3-4 reps. How do I control it and prevent myself from using momentum?

Thx to your advice am finally comfertable doing pull ups. I took your advice so much i have control of the full range of the motion. I can literally start and stop anywhere in the motion thank you. Now am going to focus on the explosive part of the pull up

for me to get better at high pull ups and muscle ups i just did weighted muscle ups, allows me to pull higher and dip stronger, many people plateau with the high pull up and i think weighted muscle ups are neglected cause you don't need to pull waist high, you just need to pull lower chest, and when you do that with an extra 10kgs you can most likely pull up to your belly button and silky smooth body weight muscle ups

When I train explosive pull ups my elbow really start to hurt. Not immediately but like 30 minutes later and for days my elbow tendonds hurt like hell. I am not kipping, not swinging, doing about 3-4 reps max. Tried first, got elbow pains, dropped it for about 2 months, rest, do other exercises, and when my elbow got better I tried again, doing less, with more rests, but hurts again. Went from pull up to neck to pull up under the chest, happy with the results, but sad that I need to stop again, and don't know how to start to not hurt.

You should upload a video in which you do chest to bar pull ups and tell how many can you do 😇🙏

I ended up with a tennis elbow type injury trying to advance my pull ups beyond my chin. It has set me back a long way, and I am restarting with simple low rep sets (5) focused on form and chin to bar.

Any tips to avoid elbow strain?
