After doing a 21 day fast, I gradually went into eating once a day OMAD. I ate large green leafy salads and I added other veggies, protein, green olives, and some Feta. And for a long time I maintained the weight I lost. I actually really enjoyed the salads bc fasting made me appreciate healthy food more than I did before

That's great. The weight loss does slow down after the 3rd week, that's what I noticed. I lost the same amount in 21 days as I did 40. Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Thanks for the encouraging words! And for reenforcing my ideas about grains and sugar.. Today was day 7 last 2 days have been the hardest.. I was aiming for 14 but I think I'll try for 21! The hardest part is going to work.. I work in the kitchen of a steakhouse.

No, I don't work out when I fast, only rest and take it easy. I want the most healing and cleaning out possible, and exercise is counterproductive to that.

I've lost 100 pounds twice. I would have kept it off the last time, but got pregnant, was put on bed rest for 5 months after I came down with a condition that made it really difficult to walk, and then got depressed. I turned to food to comfort me. When I water fast, it resets my binge eating disorder. I don't feel the urge to binge for a long time after I fast.

I'm officially starting my fast today for 13 days. I'm 174 pounds now. Wonder how much I'll be by then. I'll leave an update :)

I am on day 15 of my first water fast and you're 100% right. I am definitely craving right now. I have no intention of breaking the fast until day 21, but there are definitely ups and downs emotionally and physically during a fast.

My reasons for fasting were not due to weight. Although I could have lost 5 pounds or so, it was mostly as a catalyst for a change in lifestyle. I was caught up in the typical lifestyle of a 33 year old American male, i.e. burgers, beer and sports and more beer.

For all those watching this video who are considering going on a water fast, do it now. Although challenging, it has definitely opened up my eyes to a new way of living.

Yes, baby steps. You can go as long as you feel you can go, but don't let people stop you or your own fear stop you. Everything that you experience on a fast needs to be dealt with - that means all the emotions about leaving your beloved food! You will get to know yourself really well!!

I love your water fast videos! It gave me the motivation to start the water fast. I did 4 days a couple of months ago and must say it was tough for a person with an addiction to food. But I will start again tomorrow and hopefully get up to 7 days this time. Baby steps! Wish me luck!

Personally, I wouldn't. I tried with one of my fasts but they made me sick. You really don't need to worry about vitamin deficiency during a fast. After you start eating again, you will be able to absorb more vitamins and minerals from your food because your system will be cleaner and run more efficiently. Hope that helps!

Hi, thanks for this question because this is a big deal if you will be out in public. While I'm fasting, I do not wear anything that will stop toxins from coming out. This includes deodorant. When I have fasted in the past, my underarms have smelled like very strong onions. My breath smelled really bad as well. You will have to brush your teeth 2-3 times a day, maybe even more. I do not smell like onions now, it is actually free from any smell, but it all depends on what you eat before fasting.

You're lucky that your hubby supports you with water fasting. I've done it many times before with great success but I'm Italian and I absolutely love good food (what can I say). Soooo of course I'm going to gain it back. I've been on it now, again for 7 days and I don't tell my husband because he'll blame every mood swing I have, every ache, etc etc on the fact that I just drink water. I'll hear the old "IT'S NOT GOOD FOR YOU!!" I just tell him I'm not hungry or I'll think of something. It's a pain in the butt but a woman must do whatever works. I'm finding it tougher this time around - I'm so hungry and on my days off from work I get bored...all I think of is food, AAAARRRGGGGHHH!

I don't lose weight all at once. I can stay the same or gain weight for several days and then all of a sudden drop 5 pounds. If you're not losing weight - its ok to drink coffee, but if you have any type of creamer or any type of sweetener in it other than 100% pure stevia, it can be contributing to you not losing weight. Chemical sweeteners too, like aspartame. If you're drinking black coffee, don't worry. The weight will come off all at once. Your kidneys alone can store 6 pounds of water.

Taking vitamins is a personal choice. It will slow down your detox because you are ingesting something in your stomach, and your liver has to process these things. It's not really necessary to take any supplements and you will most likely feel better if you don't take anything. If you are healthy, do a 21 day water fast, then break it the right way and you should be fine. I have 3 videos after this one that explains water fasting - who can do it, what to do during, and how to break a fast.

I don't know if I responded to this or not, it was marked as spam for some reason. I didn't get the notification that you commented. Herbal teas are JUST fine! If you sweeten it though, you need to sweeten only with 100% pure stevia. I recommend KAL or NOW Better Stevia - those 2 brands will not leave a bitter aftertaste. I like to cook while I'm fasting, believe it or not. I come up with some neat creations. I don't get tempted after the first 3 days are over. It's easy after that - no hunger!

I try to drink three 32 oz glasses a day of the water. Sometimes I don't make it, but some days I drink more. Taking long baths help to hydrate me too. The more water you drink the better, within reason.
