Hello fellow travelers! Welcome to the first crochet and chat. Today, we are talking about #howgoingglutenfreechangedmylife and #foodallergies and a little bit cross contamination of foods too. My allergies are a huge part of my life, to say the least! I have been dealing with my food allergies for over 35 years. Being #glutenfree in the late 80's was something that no one had ever heard of. I want to share my experience, strength and hope along with my story so that you can learn from me. Plus, you don't have to make the same mistakes I did along the way.

Welcome to Our Biggs Adventure! My name is Cynthia. Come with me as I enjoy this journey called life. I will take you along with me in the kitchen, the garden and beyond! Mr Biggs and I are empty nesters, our sons are grown and out on their own. I am100% gluten free, mostly paleo and 90% dairy free. (nobody is perfect, lol) I am in long term addiction recovery with over 12 years of sobriety.

Do you have any allergies? Does anyone you know/love have food allergies?

Luckily, I don't have food allergies. But, my husband definitely has some foods he has to stay away from, especially shrimp! So relaxing to listen while watching you crochet. 😊

Good morning, Cynthia. Your outfit is so pretty btw. We don't have any food allergies, but I do have food intolerances. Very informative video. I'm sorry you go thru that, but you have found great ways to move around it. No doubt many people will find this video helpful. Tfs 💕

Wow thanks for sharing. I know some things about food allergies, but I learned more from this video. I have a sensitivity/allergy to nightshades. I haven't gotten it officially diagnosed, but figured it out with elimination. My major symptom was joint pain. I'm still not 100% sure on the distinction of allergy vs sensitivity. So I just usually say I have a sensitivity. Luckily I found that by supplementing my diet with collagen and tumeric I can eat nightshades as long as like you, I spread them out. It'd probably be best if I cut them from my diet. But I love potatoes something fierce.

Also interesting that you can get food allergies later in life to foods that they never had an issue with. Found that out from our Dr years ago.

I've had tinnitus my whole life... I could be allergic to rice?! I EAT SO MUCH RICE! I'm going to follow your advice and see if that is in fact the culprit. I've never thought about any of this before...

This was a very informative video. I love that you defined the difference between an allergy and an intolerance. Also, I would love the blueberry muffin recipe. Do you have a video for it? If so, I can't find it.

My aunt is allergic to bell peppers, soy and so much more that I do not know. I am allergic to jalapeno peppers, which is weird because I do not know anyone that has that, I get rashes when I touch them, then if I accidentally eat it I pass out (blackout) and start shaking.
