I started a gluten free diet approximately 2 months back. 1 week ago i ate gluten bread for a function because there wasn't non gluten there. I started to bloat crazy, energy levels too low. The bloating still not gone

Gluten is also assumed to negatively impact those w thyroid disorders 😔
I've definitely noticed a difference, digestively, when I eat smth w gluten now (bloating, etc)
Eating gluten free isnt fun, but it definitely beats the alternative of sitting in the bathroom for hours feeling gross

I wouldn’t avoid gluten if I had a choice, it’s more expensive and food doesn’t taste as good, major bummer but it beats dealing with constant gi upset, skin rash and psychotic behavior it gives me.

Depends how you eat in a gluten free diet, fast food is bad gluten free or not . Eating whole food is the key and sometimes not eating wheat help.

Lol did you hear what they said ?!? Going gluten free can cause nutrients deficiency because it doesn't contain the vitamins B and iron that they HAD TO ADD in wheat. So if you read between the lines, you understand that wheat is not a nutrient dense food but a really poor one so they had to add nutrients in it And this is true if you make some reseachs online. Going gluten-free cause no harm because it is naturally very very poor in nutrient to the point that after realising that industrie had to step in to reinforced the food with nutrients. Going gluten free will only help you to realise that their is plenty of natural nutrients dense food like vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, eggs, nuts, seeds, legumes etc. that doesn't just fill you in but actually fuel your body as it should be. Wheat is just an easy cheap way to give you a feeling of fulness. That the food for poor people but companies earn tones of money out of this cheap production so they will make sure that you feel like it is an essential in life. It is so abundant in our western cultures that now we think that out of it there is nothing else. But really there is, it is just deception of the mass to see the glass half empty instead of the glass half full. And we are unfortunately all falling for it. There is so many reasons why wheat shouldn't be our main diet and only occasional. Please educate yourself to seek for the truth. Fresh vegetables and fruits are far more healthy. We should rely on wheat only during war times or famines !! Don't deprive yourself from the good real food out there 🙏🏻

It is not so much the gluten, but the hybridized wheat that was created in the 50s, and began to appear in everything afterwards.

Those who do not have celiac disease or other wheat sensitivity, can still eat, gluten from spelt, and barley, rye, etc.

Even people with no history of celiac, disease or wheat sensitivity, you can suddenly develop it like I did in my late 40s . Once again, the problem is a hybridized wheat.

It is wise to avoid wheat as much as possible and opt for ancient grains instead, and consume them in small amounts. When I do this, I feel amazing. My husband does not have celiac and he also feels great when he avoids wheat and eats spelt and other ancient grains instead.

I dont have celiac...actually I'm not sure what I got, but I had this bad rash on the back of my arms and down my back for about 2 years. My doctor told me to go gluten free and and about a month later it disappeared...

I was sick most of my life, no one knew why. After covid hit, and I lost my job, I was basically living on bread products, that's when I was so sick, I could barely get out of bed, besides the fatigue, the pain was unbearable, those are the biggest symptoms, not all of them. The doctor finally figured it out. I'm a 100% better than I have ever been. I wish I ĥad known sooner.

Gluten foods do taste better, but, health wise, I will never go back, no sneaking or tasting, I'm glad to be gluten free.

Man...never felt so bad in my entire life once the gluten turned on me! Never knew you could hurt so so bad with just a simple slice of bread.

Doctors really need to stop keeping people from living well. A real doctor has to know that there is also something called non-celiac gluten sentitivity. I have great sensitivity, not celiac, to gluten and no diet, simple or not, had made me feel so good after simply cutting out wheat and gluten. Please don't listen to the so called doctors and just test how you do for at least a month without gluten. I'm 100% sure that if you have even a little sensitivity to gluten, you will know it and feel it. And trust me, no doctor, unless they're real serious and committed to health (which sadly aren't many) wants you to feel good, heal any cause of anything. If you don't take responsibility for your own health no one else will! Good luck and I hope many of you find relief like I did. God bless you all.

A lot of us are sensitive to gluten that don't have celiac. Thanks for making it harder for us to explain this to our family and friends.

I really feel sick not being able to eat hot bread smells so good but having to eat gluten-free bread smells and tastes nothing.

Hmm…next time you go to supermarket, look at people cart, you will see 70-80% what’s in there are processed food. Package good, canned food, food in a bag manufactured long ago. I remember in the 70s, the old trend was different. Lot of fresh vegetables back then, fresh meat too. Something about eating whole food like everyone forgot about it. Very small fraction of American eat whole daily and with a lot of greens. Then people blame the gluten

When I was diagnosed as being Coeliac and had Dermatitis Herpetiformis in 1982, I had never been more than 50kg. After 2 years on a GF diet, my weight went up to 85kg. It is now 73kg. Initially, it took 2 years for the extremely itchy DH rash to disappear. But if I accidentally eat gluten the very itchy rash returns for 17 weeks. I MUST make sure everything I eat does not contain ANY gluten. Gluten is in any product containing wheat barley oats rye or millet. Its a pain but is essential. My daughter in law is allergic to gluten but is not Coeliac.

A lot of people are eliminating gluten from their diet because it improves their quality of life not to have joint inflammation and a variety of other symptoms. If you give up gluten and whatever symptoms you have go away, that could very well be the cause.

My sister in law keeps stating at dinners that she's gluten-free as a form of virtue signaling, I think. She has no diagnosis at all of celiac issues but claims she thinks more clearly without wheat products. Only problem is she's now becoming diabetic because all of the gluten-free bread she eats is so high in sugar. Stupidest health decision I've ever seen someone make.

But how many people actually do the test for ciliac disease and how accurate is the test? It's not something doctors normally suggest unless someone requests it. Those nutrients do not fall off if you avoid breads, etc because you should be eating those things called vegetables.
