I go on both ssri and mirtazapin. The warnings I had heard was risk of increased agression. This never happened to me, I get the opposite of agressive when taking alcohol, so I never thought it was an issue. However, I have had some pretty insane periods of just blacking out. NO memories forming whatsoever, over a long time, over hours. And my friends were none the wiser. To them, I was just a little rowdy. I first just thought it must have been because I had too much to drink (and yes, considering i was on 2 antidepressants, I technically was drinking too much), but it didnt really make sense after thinking about it, because I have had WAY more to drink before than during thes blackout episodes, and I could still, like, form memories those times, at least. My advice is- BE CAREFUL.

Well I recently up my dosage of Prozac from 20 mg to 40 mg. I had a few drinks and collapsed hit my head on the ground and got a bad concussion. I’m 35 years old and it has never happened

So a person that is on an ssri for anxiety and mild depression is probably be ok to have a drink from time to time

SSRIs can cause intense cravings and increased consumption for alcohol in some people.

I definitely have the Neltraxone effect. 1 glass of wine and I'm GOOD on setraline whereas I can easily drink a bottle or more and not feel satisfied off of SSRIs

Prozac low dose 10mg has helped me get back my sense of Humor, I have been on it for about 2 years. Now i want to taper off it and just use sativa marijuana or hemp. I enjoy drinking light beer occasionally.

I'm on rivtrol aka Clonazepam no noticed if I had more than 2 drinks I felt sick so I drink very rarely keep it to one drink

I've been on Celexa for 5 weeks for anxiety and I had a couple beer a couple nights ago. I got so sick just off of two drinks.

As a patient, I recommend against drinking while on it.

Can one night of partying like doing heavy or light drugs and or heavily drinking cause some effects, if so what, how, and why please? Can mixing drugs, alcohol, and antidepressants potentially cause death or permanent damage?

I have alcohol dependency and I came here because I was just prescribed a generic version of prozac.

Thank you for the info because lately... including now... I just have had a hard time living without alcohol.

I don't have anymore to say because the deeper I think at the moment the more I want to die. I hate that sentence but that is the truth. I'm sorry for those of you I just made uncomfortable. Merely typing this sentence helps.

SSRI and alcohol (not excessive) = brain haemorrhage stroke. Speaking from experience.

This is false, alcohol use and SSRI can cause serotonin syndrome which can be fatal or have serious health consequences.
