I can't be the only one who thought trauma bonding was when you bond with someone who has similar trauma as you

When you are in a trauma bond, the lingering feelings and false hope can be overwhelming making it hard for you to move on. It’s like the ghosts of the past are still haunting your thoughts and emotions.

Man, it's been two years and I'm still getting random things that pull me back to it. Perfume of a coworker made me have a small panic attack. Going no contact was the best move, but I never really realized that there was still internal connections . Stay strong people.

The greatest inspiration you can derive is from your inner self and from a heart that knows you are on the right path.

I knew something was wrong when I could acknowledge her abusive behaviour but was still devastated when we split up. I should have been happy to be free, instead I didn't want to exist.

I am in a trauma bond with my only brother. There have been many instances where he apologised after abusing me badly. But the behavior repeated every time. I want to heal from those memories. I don't want to even talk to him, but i also am concerned for him. I want to be at peace. I cry many times recalling those abuses. I have been like a mother to him. I want to heal

My past trauma bound is about my brother who is toxic and manipulative related to my siblings that he wont allow me to enjoy those things inside the house and punishing me to have no wifi that I did something wrong and he keeps continuing to over controlled my behavior and disrespecting me which is critical. Even my sister who is also toxic that she talked to me so bad during breakfast meal. I felt anxious that they'll might do it again. Thats why I decided to set boundaries and decluttered space to take deep breaths in order to heal from past trauma and surround myself with the right people who are good listeners but im free from any judgement and criticism by my siblings or a family members while going on a vacation. My cousin had gone through a toxic mother who is abusive and damaging child's development which is awful for her. Her dad told not to yell at their children like that. I hope this video was helpful to anyone 4:26

Being from the School of Assume what it Means, I’ve always assumed that the definition is a bond that exists via trauma, even without “abuse”. But I’m stoopid.
