EXCLUSIVE! Convert Your Router to a Semi-auto Festool Domino Alternative | Tianli Mortising Jig

preview_player
Показать описание
Turn your woodworking router into a mortising machine (like the Festool Domino Joiner machine) with the Tianli Handheld Mortising jig! This mortising jig makes loose tenon joints so much easier at a fraction of the cost of the Festool Domino. The easy to use fence system and mortise size adjusters allow you to make any mortise size that your bit allows.

Features:
1. Precision CNC anodized aluminum body
2. Lightweight design, weighs 3.5kg (7.7lb) when used with Makita trim router
3. Industrial compact linear rails
4. Self-centering mortising, width controlled by stainless steel knurled knobs
5. Imperial and metric gauges for mortise width and fence edge to bit center distance
6. Easy to use mortise depth adjuster
7. Compatible with 65mm router spindle diameter (Other sizes will be supported in the future)
8. Easy to align mortise center pointer
9. Capable for making dowel holes
10. Assisted carriage homing feature when finished with mortising

This tool is brand new to the market, SO new that it is currently ONLY sold on eBay in LIMITED quantities. The maker of this jig messaged me on Instagram and presented this tool. I thought this tool is cleverly designed and has great potential to bring values to woodworking hobbyists like myself, so I agreed to do a review to showcase this jig to the world. Aside from receiving the jig, I do NOT make any commission or compensation from the eBay sales.

Outstanding video and tool! I will buy one. I build cabinets using the porter cable biscuit joiner. I screw and glue all connections using the biscuits. But I can see this method is much stronger!

Thank you for showing this nice tool in your video.
Indexing precisely the exact position of the tenons remains a MAJOR Time-Eater, but then again that goes the same for Festool. (And they NEVER talk about it)...

I think anytime you can save money on a tool that does the same as an overpriced tool, like the Festool, go for it. This looks like an awesome tool substitution. Thanks for the demo.

I’d never even think of purchasing a Festool anything, much less a domino machine. I’m a true mortise and tenon man, but I might just buy your jig. The convenience it would offer at times I believe is well worth the price your asking. Good job Mr Ding

Have to admit that this would be more affordable then the festool. Of late I’ve had to joint some boards together. I used a dowel jig but this would have saved me time and help with accuracy. Thanks Ding!!

Do we know when this will be available again? It appears to be sold out everywhere...

That’s a great alternative to the domino. I can’t afford Festool but could this for sure. Great review Ding

Would setup blocks be useful to set the height? Does the zero on the height scale line up the router bit at the edge of the platform?

Will wait for version two with angle adjustment and dust collection. Seems like that could be achieved

This is an amazing jig; in fact, in some ways it’s even better than the Domino. For instance, I can see this this jig routing deeper mortises with a longer router bit—something the Domino simply cannot do. Next, visibility is excellent, making it much easier to rout longer slots with confidence. And, finally, it can easily become a doweling tool by restricting the lateral movement. With a little bit of imagination, a host of useful accessories for chain doweling/mortising can also be built into the design. I hope the person who came up with this jig has applied for a patent, otherwise someone else will probably steal this brilliant idea.

Demo was only on narrow stock. How would you cut the mortise in say, the centre of a 30cm mdf sheet?

What is the range of the jig, meaning how far below the top can you rout the mortise? I need to go 2-3”.

A great mortising Jig keeping it simple to use and affordable.
I think that if you turn it upside down you can do mitred joints referencing from the pointed edge.
I will have to wait for the 71mm version to fit my Bosch router.
Keep up the good work
