I just watched a 30 minute video that showed me the same thing. Yours is much more to the point and very clear, easy to understand.

the newer tp link routers seems to all come with this handy buit-in option for changing the operation mode of the router to routing to access point and even to other options. It is pretty convenient for ease to set up and deals with all the needed configuration...you just flip it, connect an ethernet cable to its wan port and set up its wireless settings.

But nowadays it is also very easy to manually set every other router into an access point, wired or not. The basic of it is to just disable the dhcp server of the access point router and assign to it an ip within the same subnet of the main router. Then you just plug an ethernet cable from the lan port of the main to the other lan port of the access point .

I did this instead of a mesh network which was an absolute nightmare, a cabled access point will always be superior.

Great video, just tone down the background music. I thought that you would be wirelessly connecting the 2 routers.

Thank you for this great video TP Link! Finally I succeeded in creating a large and strong WIFI network using 2 TP Link routers as an access point beside my internet modem.

BIG THANKS for this video! I was able to make my AP work with my WIFI Vendo machine.. At first a tutorial said to have me connect my USB to LAN to the AP-capable router's LAN port not the WAN port. I did that but didn't work! I came across this video and found out that it's supposed to be connected to the WAN port of the AP. So now it's all up and running.. My vendo's coverage is just expanded. Thanks!!! :D

It would have been useful to explain what Access Point was & what is the benefits of using it before this video but the info was useful. Thanks.

First wasn’t able to create a functioning AP. But with help of the video I figured I needed to configure the AP stand alone first. Now it seems to work. Thanks. But yeah, could do with an update of the same video without the music. Would be so much better.
