Surprised Ryan didn’t mention the quote:

I like " have I done my best in this moment?" Not focusing on perfection, but action. Action before Perfection.

I am currently receiving treatment for cancer and have been unable to work since January. Some days, I just react to what’s happening, snd others I actually plan what I’ll be doing. Obviously, the latter is preferable. With my initial cancer diagnosis, I was truly facing my own mortality. I truly will feel memento mori every day of my life now as this cancer may come back, or I could get hit by a bus! This video today was so helpful to help me be mindful to not waste my precious time here on this earth. Thank you, Ryan.

Speaking of routine: "If you wanna be a writer, write" - Epictetus. Now, what did this man mean by this quote? He meant that if you want to do something, anything, you should do it so often it becomes second nature to you. If you want to write, write so often that you don't even think about it when you sit down and get to it.
When I have been at my best while writing, I have felt that. That I just sit my ass down into the chair and open up the word-document without even thinking about it.

The only thing that makes sense striving for is a state of "good enough". Perfection can never be achieved in an ever-changing world

I was just watching this casual video and then asked to my self: "why this youtuber has so many copies of the book that I am reading?" 5 seconds later: "OMG is the author!"

The similarities drawn up between being too busy and being a couch potato really resonated with me. Ryan pointing out how having so much too do that it is beyond your bandwidth is a form of procrastination really added a much needed view to my perspective on productivity and procrastination. I now feel that having too much on my plate is maybe my way of trying to procrastinate thinking deeply about what really matters to me. Great video.

I’m an author, and I do a million things before I ever find the time to write.

I’m also a completionist. My upcoming book is based on research, meaning that I need to read +20 books to finish my own.

It’s been 7 years in the making now.
