Totally agree, the app is broken, it's not fit for purpose.
How can a company selling such high-end audio equipment, even thing of releasing an app like this.😢

Over the last week I'm finding all my Sonos speakers are going on mute every night. On the Sonos forum it seems this is a common issue since about last Tuesday - Sonos posted one reply a week ago saying they are looking into it, then nothing since, and a lot of comments say they have contacted Sonos support about it and basically been brushed off.
Curious as to who else it might be affecting? Things seem to be 2 steps forward, one step back with Sonos at the moment - and customer support seems to have gone out the window entirely.

Another great video Peter.
My biggest beef is queue management. As you have said, I can no longer add a track to the queue at random without replacing the whole queue. How on earth has this app been signed off by the senior management of Sonos.

Thank you for this update and I agree with you. Also hate the delay - start a song, go to different app and then back to Sonos app...now wait 30 seconds for it to show current song status.

It’s a sad day when a real enthusiast like you Peter has to “vent” about a company failing to consider its impact on its customers. Thanks for being honest as it’s influencers like you that can get them to listen.
My main issue is that the update was not something I can reverse out. Same with the firmware update- I couldn’t access my system until I agreed to let it update firmware, which I was very nervous about.
Software development is hard and mistakes happen, but forcing customers to endure the mistakes with no back out option is inexcusable. Why can’t we just go back to previous version until they sort out the issues?

This experience and the approach Sonos has applied has turned me completely off them as a brand and I will not buy another Sonos product, and I’m gonna tell everyone I know not to buy it either! Very disappointed as I was a real fan boy.

True play not working with me either . Volume indicator non existent. New app is horrible! Good to have your updates!

Hi Peter, thanks for the video. My system is still a complete mess. Every time that I open the app, system not found, music constantly drops and then the system loses complete room setups. We won't forget that this is not the first time that Sonos has thought itself bigger than it's customers. Remember when they made equipment obsolete overnight, forcing us to upgrade or lose support. If I hadn't invested so much money into Sonos I would go elsewhere. I have emailed the CEO, guess what? Nothing. They need to admit they got this spectacularly wrong and just release the old app which just worked. Beyond frustrated.

Why did they fix something that wasn’t truly broken. Room grouping, changing music, etc…the whole interface is horrible now! It used to be so easy!

Hey Peter, Greetings from Kentucky. The feature I miss the most from the upgraded S2 app is the ability to create and label playlists as well as Downloading albums from Apple Music. Btw, my system still sounds great (Arc, Sub Gen3, two Sl ones) so I’m not touching Tru play until you say it’s working. Love your channel thanks for all you do Peter concerning Sonos.

I’m so glad you did this video .. I purchased the two era 300s and sub to complete my arc in march, and that update has been ridiculous! . Last week the app crashed and .. and erased my whole system had to start from scratch.

I’m sure their focus is now on the damn headphones they need to fix the bugs especially before releasing a rumored arc 2 . It’s ridiculous thx again

True play is working with the previous true play setting from the old version of the Sonos app. In SG

Thanks for the tip on getting trueplay to finish tuning! Up until now I always had the TV input selected so it failed. As of 10 minutes ago, I switched the input to apple music and was able to complete the trueplay tuning on the first try. The on/off toggle is showing up now and it sounds to be applying the trueplay settings. System is Beam G2 + Sub mini + Era 100 surrounds.
I have another HT system (Arc, 1xSub G3, era 300 surrounds) that still has the trueplay tuning from before the app update - I've been afraid to try retune it with all the issues others are reporting. That system also has the trueplay on/off toggle and the trueplay settings sound to be applied even after the app update.
Looks like I got lucky with the app issues somehow

Hi, I must admit. Sold my Sonos Arc, 2x300 and sub because of the update policy. Went and got a complete Denon setup. And liking it.

Thank you for your loud voice on this Peter! .. This recent Sonos update has been a complete and utter disaster. I recently spent over $4k on upgraded Sonos gear and would have jumped at two pairs of headphones had this update not been such a monumental disaster. Now I'm hesitant to spend another dollar on Sonos gear. I'd say this has probably been my worst tech spending experience in several decades.

I'm still hurting from the revelation that my ERA300's are lobotomised because I've set them as rears and would need to buy a second pair and set them up as a different zone if I wanted to listen to the ERO300's as a spatial music pair. It couldn't be hard to allow for a virtual zone with just the two ERA300's running fully functional ... GRRRR!!!! But then they can't even get an app to work successfully so maybe I'm asking way too much.

Good speakers, crap app!

Agree with all your comments. I Emailed Sonos after your last video and they responded that there would be a fix to the upgrade. Received the update to the app that was supposed to address the issues with the upgrade and it still has the same problems using my iPad and iPhone. Come on Sonos. Fix the problem!
