HiFi Brothers bring you their honest opinion of the new Sonos App. It's been a crazy couple of months and not everything is going really well. What do you think?

This was recorded before the recent changes to Sonos’ Terms of Service which has many in the community enraged.

Since the upload - looks like the new App update 80.03.06 (iOS) and 80.03.03 (Android) now adds:

▪️ Numbers to the volume slider
▪️ Mute button icon
▪️ Support for SonosNet channel selection
▪️ Stereo/mono configuration for Amp or Port

Our collective voices are being heard! 💪

The app is utterly appalling- Sonos shafted its loyal customers by releasing an untested app just so they could line their pockets for the ace headphone release

Queue management is still a joke - no ability to delete tracks or move tracks about and worse still if you change the source to watch tv and then try to go back to the music queue it’s impossible

Utterly farcical and whoever was responsible should be sacked

The shareholders should kick out the entire board

Bro I got some stuff installed yesterday at my house and was so excited. The techs that came over couldn’t even get the sub gen 3 to work.. the app is annoying and doesn’t connect to anything.. I’m tired of this BS, I regret my decision even getting into this Sonos ecosystem. It’s a big POS

My $7, 000 system is total crap now. Only my soundbar has been connected the last 6 months!! Run for hills anyone considering buying ANYTHING Sonos.

My 12 Sonos speakers continue to not work.. they drop certain speakers in a group daily, it just stops playing Amazon music after one song.. I have these speakers playing daily and it has been really unfortunate a big company like Sonos cannot fix this more quickly…

They ruined software that wasn't even close to ready so they could sell headphones. Speakers drop every time I play music. Takes ten to fifteen seconds to even play/pause when it works. Airplay is even sketchy most of the time. And apparently, they took out the part of not selling customer information from their TOS.

I just bought a Sonos beam gen 2 and mini sub yesterday and the Sonos app won't work. Keeps saying mini needs update but won't update just gives error 1000. So I have a sub and app I can't even use at all. I guess I should have went with the Bose system instead

I agree with you on the app update. i think giving people time to transition but I guess sonos never learns their lesson! I wish they released a beta instead of rushing the software out. It seems a lot of these developers would rather rush out a product then spend extra money beta testing too bad.
On the headphone side, apple even has a heads phone for $450 so for Sonos to price their products as high as apple is a huge disappointment, i am 100% sure there are better products then their headphones.

I changed WiFi provider to Fios and now it doesn’t find any of my Sonos devices and I did every troubleshooting possible and nothing!! I need my music so definitely searching for a whole new sound system for my home

I can‘t connect to my speaker at all. Returning it tomorrow and moving on.

Did anyone figure out how playlists made in the sonos app are shown? I can't find them at all. Thanks for any advice!

BS they’ve done nothing to fix it and it’s to late they have and should lose a lot of customers new and old. Don’t waste your time or money on them

I love the system but Sonos lost customer is me. The latest update was screwed me for a month now. I don’t recommend anyone surrendering me friends or family anymore.

Relearn the new app, good luck with that.
My experience is that the app rarely connects to my system and when it does it’s laggy and glitches or just doesn’t respond at all.
The previous version worked just fine for me.
