At Upright Health we give you strategies and research to get your life back.

With principled functional training, we believe everyone can beat chronic pain and get strong, mobile, and resilient.

Our home training programs help you troubleshoot and train your body safely. We help you tear down fear and build up muscle. We help you think right, move right, and feel right.

Matt Hsu's own battle with chronic pain from the age of 16 in his feet, knees, hips, back, shoulders, elbows, forearms, wrists, hands, and head gives him a uniquely thorough understanding of musculoskeletal pain, the ways in which it can undermine an entire life, and the mental and physical hurdles that keep people from getting out of it.

When not filming videos, he's working out in the living room, surfing, learning dance or gymnastics moves, or riding a bike with his son in tow.

Thank you for the video. I really appreciate that you took the time to actually do a workout and show the options for beginners and beyond.
I started learning on your channel from the minimal shoes videos but also enjoy your other videos

First exercise, lots of pop and snap on my bad side in the flexors, can feel it where it attaches to the vertebrae. Last exercise, surprisingly weak with my feet out and the groin in a gentle stretch. If I put my feet in front of me, last exercise is cake. Going to add this program to my rotation to try and fix piriformis syndrome and some SI joint laxity. The hip pain side sleeping workout is a good one too, that helped my trochanter pain.

Hi Matt, I am 75, I have fallen 3 times in the last 2 1/2 years . I have been doing posture a balance exercises and have really improved. My last fall was in the shower and I had my eyes closed and turned to fast and lost my balance and hit my rt hip on the brick seat, it did not look good. I did not go to a doctor but went to my chiropractor and message therapist for relief ( also doing exercises for sciatica) but driving home it was unbearable! Since then for over a month I haven’t been able to sit long and also had an MRI which showed my doctor that I have 2 fractures, one recent in the L2 lumbar and another (not recent) in the L1 lumbar. Thank the Lord no surgery suggested but that I need to do weight bearing exercises. He ordered some cream to rub on my hip, 4 times a day, for my pain….bursitis.
In my condition should I do all these exercises without effecting my spine.
Thanks, Bon
