Yes, I swear by Dysport for crows feet. Have used it for years to hold back the hands of time!

I always apply sunscreen on my eye area, since ever. Even when people used to tell me that I was wrong. I never felt I was and my eye area up and down thank me for that. THANK YOU Dr Raj. You are more than excellent!

I use my Retin-A 2x weekly and use it on the crow’s feet area. I also shave 1x weekly and go over the same area. I just turned 50 and no big wrinkles there. It also helps not to make strong facial expressions and wear sunglasses to prevent squinting. (Skin type is Fitzpatrick 1-2 iirc.)

I had bags under my eyes and crows feet. The first time I used Under Eye Dermal MD I saw a difference. Even my husband asked me what I did different. It is truly amazing the way the bags disappear. You can actually feel it getting tighter. I don’t go out of the house without wearing it. It’s the best thing ever.

Botox is to be avoided it can make eyebags look worse and when you smile you get a weird stop line when your cheeks rise I did it once never again 🙏

I've been disappointed with botox / dysport for my crows feet. It works definitely, but it has never lasted more than 3-4 weeks. It doesn't seem to matter how many units I get or if it's Botox or Dysport, or who my injector is. It's very frustrating and each time it costs me $300-$400 so I just can't afford that for such a short time.

I had plasma gel by the top dermatologist in the 80s 90s in nyc. I had it injected in lips and in 2010 it started growing like silicone, even though I did not have an injection since 2001. I had to get it cut out. I wanted something natural and I got screwed by natural.

Avene’s RetrinAl and Physiolift eye creams have the same ingredients, but very different prices. Are these really the same? Thanks! 🥰

Thank you for the great content, Doctor.
I understand that injectable PRF uses no additives, i.e. it doesn't require the anticoagulant or activators typically used with PRP.

How is it then, that the platelets in PRF are activated?

Thank you!!! 😊

Hello Doctor!

Your other response got me thinking of something. It's a "bit" of a lengthy thought, but I didn't want to be unclear. :)

Am I correct that thrombin (along with -to a lesser extent- ADP, collagen and others) is/ are the body's natural platelet activators during the wound healing cascade?

That got me thinking...

The fibrin clot formed via PRF slowly releases platelets (during fibrinolysis(?)) over the course of two - eight weeks, post "injury."

And such is ONE OF the major reasons for electing to use PRF over PRP, i.e. the sustained release of platelets over the course of weeks, rather than hours.

That slow release is "great" if those platelets continue to be activated.

Natural platelet activation occurs "PRIMARILY" during hemostasis, in the early inflammatory stages of the healing process i.e. from the time of injury through the following 72 hours, or so.

With PRF, the vast majority of platelets are going to be released from the fibrin clot AFTER that initial 72 hour window, during a period that is after the period during which the body will PRIMARILY be providing a means to activate said platelets.

My question then is: What is the mechanism by which the majority of the platelets are activated? Or do most of them go unactivated?

I read through a handful of articles, and couldn't find an answer.

I am sure that some small percentage of the platelets will still be activated, but I'm referring to the vast majority that continue to be released once that stage of the wound response has concluded?

Following dental and orthopedic surgical procedures, one can certainly understand that the healing process under those circumstances would continue for many weeks, thus continuing to successfully activate platelets as they are released.

But an INJECTION of PRF creates a far less traumatic wound; one wouldn't suppose that the needle should cause the temporal duration and continued process of healing that would be required to activate "most" of the platelets.

Should PRF be done with light microneedling every fourth day following treatment in order to properly benefit?

Thank you again for your thoughts and expert advice. I very much respect your opinion on this matter and many others!

All the best!

Very sincerely,

Justin.

Edit. I've since received some interesting input from other Doctors and professors on the matter. But I'll wait on your thoughts as this is already very long.

I think that it's INCREDIBLY important though and hope the discussion and where this appears to be leading will prove beneficial to all. 😀
