We've shown you how to encrypt your desktop email in a previous video (link below), but it's just as easy (maybe easier) to encrypt your webmail too. All you need to do is install an extension called Mailvelope and set it up.

You explained how the keys work icorrectly. The sender encrypts the email with the recipient's public key and then the recipient decrypts it with his or her private key. You never decrypt anything with a public key. Public keys are public. They can be shared with everyone, not just people you trust. Having one key to encrypt and one to decrypt is called asymmetric encryption.

Actually, it means only that one who has the access to your PC can misuse it. Messages still stay protected from the point of sending to the point of receiving. This feature, if true, can be easily corrected in the next Mailvelope version.

This is an example of end to end encryption so only you and the recipient have the plaintext of the message. If used correctly no one can spy on you. The fact that the message was sent and the sender and recipient (the metadata of the message) are not protected, just the content of it. In addition to preventing spying it can prevent man in the middle attacks where you don't know that the messages you're receiving are from who they say they are.

It means that one who has access to your PC can find out what your private key is and then he might decide to use it to send messages pretending to be you.

you don't have to remember the PGP keys, you save them in your keychain

a small tidbit they left out, eh?...

To anyone that doesn't get what this dude is saying... that renders this plugin about as useful as a screen door is at protecting a submarine
