Step to do it:
1- log in gmail
2- setting-
- see all setting
3- forwarding and POP or IMAP
-enable POP
-enable IMAP
-save it
4- go to google account
- manage your google account
- security
- two step Verification
5- go back
6- click on App password
- select app
- choose other
- type Outlook
- copy app password
7- open microsoft Outlook
-type your gmail
-check let me set up my account manually
-choose POP
-put password and connect

Any suggestions on how to do the opposite? I have an existing Outlook email address (for work) that I want to funnel into my personal gmail account. Any guidance would be tremendously appreciated!

I'm so pissed! When Google disabled access for less secure apps, every website was saying that you need an OAuth capable e-mail client to continue accessing Gmail mailbox. Office 2016 was said to be supporting OAuth, so I upgraded to it (I'm on Windows 7 so that's the latest version I can use). Now I see that in reality, you still have to use Google's "hack" (App password) to get it working! I could have used this App Password with my old Outlook 2007 as well I guess, without having to upgrade.
