This is why it’s important to always do things you really don’t want to do

I experienced this after high school when I stopped playing sports. I felt that there was nothing left to go after, to exert my energy. It took some time for me to adjust. Nowadays, my workouts are more balanced and strategically placed.

Lead a modest life without many peaks nor valleys so that you reserve your strength for the things that matter.

This has been my life. I work hard, play hard, swim hard, try to get good sleep. Now I’m almost 58 - it’s harder to do now but I’m still going strong.

I did the "work hard, play hard" thing for less than 3 weeks. Burst into tears on the way to work because I felt bad for someone handing out flyers that no one took from him. So, I realised I need sleep and rest.

Contentment is at the baseline. A lot of dopamine spikes are unnatural, so it sounds to me like with time the baseline drops which is basically the same thing as a heroin addict whose tolerance goes up, so they need more and more to achieve the "high", and the lows feel lower...

It's in our chemistry that when we truly are out of balance with something there are definite signs that will follow.

I personally don't believe that someone who has overdone it through the course of their life is now stuck on a lower baseline permanently.

Our bodies are amazing, and even regenerative in many ways. Otherwise a heroin addict could never recover either.

It's about balance, and if you let it, your body can bring you back into a proper balance. You just have to learn to listen to your instincts, your intuition, and your body.

That's why rich people always end up bored and depressed.

Just as the same in medications. Our bodies are not static things but are constantly adjusting. Medications that you take for life have to be adjusted because your body responds to them and changes and the same with hormones etc in our bodies. Constant changing.

I understand that feeling. I quit porn and gaming and my life is much better now. Also keto diet helps a lot.

I love Andrew, someone wrote once you should play a drinking game where everytime he says Dopamine you drink a shot

I can relate and it doesn’t even matter what the events he is talking about matter. It just needs to feel more or different. Thus the need to continue growing whatever that means to you as an individual

Can you add the original video in the description? It's quite hard to find the original through all of his videos. Also beacause the full videos are necessary to understand the whole explenations
