Makes sense yoga early in the day for brain function then later in the evening strength training to tire your body for sleep

that explains so damn much, was going to the gym SPECIFICALLY for brain function and i'm actually going to do 3x a week instead of current every day

I'm suspecting an extreme oversimplification in this clip. Oxygen/blood for the brain is priority nr 1 at all times.

Another factor that I imagine plays a bigger role is energy balance = your body is constantly trying to maintain a balance of energy in and energy out. It seems your body has a rough energy budget for every 24h, whether you lie still or move all day and whether you eat a defecit or a surplus of calories. No workouts can lead to hyperactivity and mild axiety in many people, cus when you're not using the energy for movement your body tries to use it up in other was, like through brain activity. A moderate level of workout can calm you down and make you more focused, since the budget reaches some degree of balance. A high level of exercise will make you drowsy, since you overspend the energy.

Don't get me wrong, this is not as simple as calories in and calories out, so you can't just eat more to feel more energized the same day. Your body would just figure that you need to save as much energy as possible for the next day just in case that one will be as intense. The urge to eat is still there, but it won't make you feel energized. Sleeping/resting (or stimulants like caffeine) is the only way to get there when you overspend from the energy budget.

Is this in extreme situations? Med school lectures say blood flow to the brain is constant even during exercise but I guess they're just generalizing to the average Joe's workout rather than an athlete's intense workout. Does that sound about right?

This so-called scientist need to take a physiology refresher. Brain blood flow is tightly regulated as #1 need in the body; always. Kidney, heart, also key. Blood shunting is

I didn't train very hard though!

I do glute bridge, McGill big 3 and whatever the wall arm glide thing for posture is called.

I did slightly more today than I usually do and I feel TERRIBLE!

Nauseous, light headed, off balance, my brain don't want to work, shaky.

Damn I'm that damn weak...

No, 99.999% of anyone who works out does not overtrain. You would have to be running 10 miles a day and doing a 5 hour full body workout and also calisthenics till you puke, and then not eating enough and getting 3 hours of sleep to actually overtrain. This guys advice is probably some of the worst I’ve ever heard. I know people who’ve actually passed selection at buds and they get about 4 hours of sleep and push themselves to a point that most people will never be at just for fun and they still aren’t overtraining.

This is word salad for views. Exercise does not cause ADHD diagnosis or brain fog.
