The terrified and resigned look that Bob had was probably the biggest emotional gut punch I got for the vast majority of the movie.

I love how we can see the characters doubt him and almost think: easy for him to say, he isn’t doing it. Only for later on when maverick shows how it’s done they gain respect for him and realise he is the real deal

I love how all the characters had a chance on the screen even for a little screen time but something that kept my attention the whole movie was Phoenix. Goddamn she was so fearless, brave, professional and wasn't a forced character, she was very natural and seemed to be way more prepared than the others pilots together with Maverick and Hangman.

Monica Barbaro did a incredible job with her character.

Can we also give credit to the screenplay writing. The movie was well balanced among a large cast of characters and the story kept me glued. I saw it a few times too and it never got old!

Hangman is just like the young Maverick and Maverick is like Viper in this scene. I dont know why Rooster is like Iceman a teamplayer and the usual critic of a lonewolf tactic.

Hangman was kept on reserve just like Maverick on the first film in the actual mission for being unreliable. Maverick learned his lesson and perhaps Hangman also did.

I wasn't into the first movie because of how technical everything was.

I don't know anything about aviation, so it was hard to understand what the characters were doing

This movie on the other hand was a lot easier to understand. They had a mission and they had to know how to perform each stage to complete it.

Have seen it 5 times (Ace!) in the theater... And would pay to see it again. So well done. And just feels SO GOOD considering all the other stuff coming out of Hollywood of late. Even the MCU films have worn out their welcome with me, and I didn't go see the latest Bond movie... I don't miss those.
