The first 30 seconds of this scene does such a great job at setting the tone. The expressions on their faces, the music, even the body language of Phoenix as she gives the “engine start” signal. No Hollywood false bravado or hype, just a group of professionals mentally preparing themselves for a mission. So good.

This scene is perfect. The anticipation of the mission, pressure building up, friends possibly saying their last goodbyes, combined with the brilliancy of Hans Zimmers score makes for an extremely emotional pre-mission scene. I saw this movie the day before I left home for my freshman year of college. This scene broke me. This scene/act makes the movie for me. Movie making at its finest.
