A True leader doesn’t tell you what to do, He shows you how it’s done.👍🏻👍🏻

I love how you can see Hangman's attitude change as Mav makes his way through this. First he scoffs, then he smiles as if he thinks Mav will fail and wants some entertainment, then as Maverick drops his bombs he's intensely focused on whats happening, before finally saying 'Damn' in respect of what he's just seen. Glen Powell did such a great job, Hangman could so easily have come across as any other arrogant jock.

I like how Mav did this not because he wanted to show he was the best or that he was right. He did it because he wanted all of these young pilots to make it home.

I visited my mom, who is terrified of flying, over xmas and watched this movie with her. Having my mom, who can not see any aircraft on a screen without a panick attack, jumping up from the couch and screaming 'you can do it Mav' might be the most joyful thing i have witnessed in my life

Warlock's wry smile was the perfect way to start that scene. Out of everyone in the room, he was the only one who knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Maverick was perfectly capable of doing exactly what he said he would. His expression was an amusing way to say, "These kids are about to get schooled" without having to say a single word. Throughout the whole movie Warlock was the strongest link between Maverick's world and the big Navy, the one man who could see both sides. His character was perfectly cast and perfectly acted, a delight to watch in every scene.

So few people stating the best part of this: he did the jobs of two jets at once. One aims the laser, and the other drops the bombs. He did both and even kept aiming while almost fainting from 10Gs. Best scene of the entire movie.

I love how Rooster finally begins to realize that his Dad flew with a freaking terror of the skies, and was probably safer up there than driving in his own car, had it not been for a stupid malfunction. I think he begins to understand, Maverick being this incredible feels just as robbed if not more for the death of Goose.

Damn. Every time I watch this scene I want to watch the entire movie again.

This scene is one of the many reasons I love this movie. The legacy character takes matters into his own hands and comes out on top.

Felt damn goosebumps at that time. This man is real to these kids. This is one of the best scenes in this sequel. This is also unexpected. Nothing told in trailer.

The cinematography of this is just insane. It kept you on the edge of your seat for the entire time. Movie making is an art, every detail, sound bite, every frame counts. What this movie achieved is just spectacular.

One of the best sequels of all time. This is how you do a classic justice. This scene along with the whole movie was what we go to the movies for. Absolutely fantastic!

One of the great things about this scene to the students is that none of them pushed themselves this hard during their runs, the man showed them there was another level they needed to reach.

My favorite part is Hangman's body language. At 1:22 you can see him settle into his chair like he's expecting Maverick to fail, just like they all did, like HE did. There is a cockiness to it that fits his character so well. After all, he's the best pilot, even if the rest are willing to admit it.

By 3:06 his whole posture has changed; he's on the edge of his seat watching someone do what they all thought was impossible, and in less time.

And by the end, there's just that quiet "damn" as he comes to grip with the realization that he ISN'T the best pilot. This dude's whole world changed in 2m and 15 sec.

Being a veteran, this man showed his peers one thing. You lead by example, you show him/ her how it's done. Failing is fine, giving up is never an option.

Somehow better than the first, yet could not be better without the existence of the original. A masterclass in making a sequel.

My man removed 15 seconds off the training target..flies lower than 100ft training target.. drops bomb and does his own laser thing as opposed to 2 planes combination as in training target.

Guy just showed he was giving it easy to the trainees and there's whole another level of badass yet to unlock

Whoever the F-18 pilot was when they filmed this has balls of aerospace grade titanium. Flying through a narrow canyon at that speed, while ensuring the safety of one of the biggest celebrities on the planet. No pressure.

One of the greatest scenes I’ve ever watched. Absolutely thrilling in theaters. In the top 5 of movies all-time for me.

I love Hangman expressions. Firstly - he’s arrogantly thinking - “Mav can’t do this”. Secondly - he’s humbling thinking - “oh my gosh, Mav is going to do this”. Lastly - he’s stunned thinking - “how the hell did Mav just do that with time to spare…DAMN”. Love it.
