If I was a student, I would first spend my money on a MacBook with a real operating system. Simply making a PowerPoint presentation on an iPad is a pain. An iPad would be great for taking notes in class. Mini is too small, 12.9 is too large. 11 is the perfect spot.

My daughter's heading to college and we were thinking of a PC/iPad combination with Good Notes. We have ditched the PC and are now thinking of the following:

13 inch iPad Air with Pencil Pro for note taking and split screen
Logitech Keyboard since it gives an elevated sketch position and a protective cover
Paperlike Protection with Good notes
11 inch iPad with Pencil (1st Gen) that she already has for holding and reading since 13 inch can be hard to hold

Maybe she can take her Chromebook (Acer one of the better ones with a i5) to use Microsoft Office Apps since it has a touchscreen and is 2-in-1 and runs Google and Android apps.

iPad 13” is way to go. I’ve had 2018 12.9”. The ability split screen and the extra real-estate is key. However, keep in mind if using google apps… they are terrible. You’re better off going through the desktop for docs, etc which is another reason I’d say go big. No takes notes with a pencil any more. Everyone types. The full size keyboard and trackpad are going to make that happen better. Portability. 11” vs 13”? Talking about 2” and both are gonna end up in your backpack.

If you are on a budget it's between the Mini and the Air but if you care about having your iPad for many years it is best to get an iPad with an M chip like the new Air or Pro ... it all depends on budget and what you plan to do with your iPad

I’m not a student anymore….well yeah i am because i learn English at 40, but i bought the iPad Air M2 11’’ and I’m happy with it, it’s make the job done very well, better than my ancient iPad Pro M1. If it was possible i had buying the iPad Pro M4 in 13’’.
