UPDATE : Apple have just announced / released Final Cut for iPad and it will ONLY work on iPads with an M series chip. There are similar limitations (but not as harsh) for Logic Pro too.

So much for all of them running the same apps 😭

It's actually simple, we take a look at our bank account and purchase according to our budget😢

I feel like the iPad Air can easily fall for students! The biggest thing is the M1 chip and not only is it fast but is more future proof. Which in my opinion for the price compared to the regular iPad is a big thing for me. As a student I can’t consider upgrading for quite a while. I currently have the m2 iPad Pro just cause as someone that games a lot on pc the pro motion display really is a step up as well as writing notes really is a big difference! But overall loved this review!

I asked the staff at the store. They just said that 9th gen is fine if its just for online class, studying and social media stuff. Loving it even after 6 mos

Little note: Apple rereleased the first gen Pencil late last year to include a lightning (f) to usb c (f) as well as lightning (f) to lightning (f) adapters in the box. Just make sure the manufacture date on the Apple Pencil box says manufacture year is 2022, and you won’t have to purchase the adapter separately, if you’re purchasing the Pencil for the first time.

I just recently bought the iPad 9th gen. It is just perfect for media consumption and browsing. Still fast, and does everything i want it to do just fine. The a13 is not slow at all! 🙂 i dont need to shell out 800-1000$ or even more for an ipad if all i do on it is watching YouTube and the like. Great ipad!

One thing to note about the iPad 9th Gen is that the Logitech Combo Touch is available for that model which adds a real keyboard and trackpad functionality, so it’s another option for students to consider

I agree with the issue of product overlap when you start adding options, I ran into the same problem when I was debating on which MacBook to buy. I finally opted for the iPad Mini 6 and the M2 MacBook Air (both base models), and they turned out to be great travel companions.

you are so right about the mini! i recently got a used one in addition to my 12.9 inch and it is fantastic. my original plan was to see which one i use more and to eventually get rid of the other, but they complement each other perfectly! they basically feel like two versions of the same device. needless to say, ive decided to keep both (which my wallet isnt too happy about lol) but i really cannot recommend the mini enough. it can do everything a larger ipad can do, and it's just so light and compact. anyway, fantastic video as always!

Great video. Just bought myself an iPad Air 5 gen with 256gb and an Apple Pencil 2 used for a total of 660 pounds due to my work as graphic designer, and I can't wait!

I got my iPad about 8 years ago. I received it as a Christmas gift in 2014. Mine is the original iPad Air. At that point Apple had already came out with Air 2 so the Air was probably discounted. No I am not editing videos or drawing an amazing pictures with this iPad, I have always used it for basic tasks. Even though it is going to be 10 years old and is on IOS 12, it is still a great machine. Many of the apps work even though they are not on the latest version. The only thing, that is to be expected, is when using Safari it is a little slow and the battery is not as strong as it once was. I would definitely say pick the Air. You may pay up a little bit but it will last a while. I am sure Apple has made several improvements to make the new one better than original. The original Air was great so I can only imagine how great the new one is.

I just upgraded my iPads for illustrating. I chose the 11’ M2 iPad Pro - I love the brighter display (600 nits), Face ID and 120 hz. I’m so pleased with my purchase as it’s a big improvement on 2018 iPad Pro - especially if you use procreate. Totally with it for me as I will keep it for at least 5 years. I also purchased an iPad mini as a companion device as it’s also great to sketch on. It’s my 2nd Mini as I gave my other one to my Mum. I’m so happy with both of these iPads and am glad there is an iPad for everyone.👍

Like all your other videos, this is a really nice, informative video about iPads. I chose the iPad Air 5 with the Apple Pencil. The only reason I didn't buy the Magic Keyboard was the cost. Instead, I bought a cheaper alternative on Amazon, which also has a trackpat.

instantly I knew you were the channel for me. you spoke on exactly what I needed unlike others that just want to here themselves talk.thank you.

Easy:
- basic school/"i just want a basic browsing machine" - Ipad 9 or 10
- "I need a pro for illustration/work/games, but i can´t afford it" - Ipad Air
- "I need a pro" - 12.9 Ipad Pro
Ipad mini is great, but for 100 bucks more you get the air, or you can save some money and get the ipad 10, same goes for the 11 Ipad pro.

I’m not entirely sure how you did this Tom but somehow you made a video about the iPad lineup that can only be described as ‘cosy’.

Really loved how you structured this and the idea of categories to help folk make the best decision that works for them. Apple could learn lots from this!

I just recently got the iPad 9th gen. Yes it might be older but my carrier had a great deal. It does everything I need to do just fine and keeps up great. I am very happy with my purchase

Just chiming in to say this was the most concise, thoughful, and realistic iPad roundup I have seen! I have been researching iPads to replace my aging Pro 10.5 (2017) for weeks, and this video finally gave me clarity in my decision. No other youtuber/blogger has so clearly made the distinction between creator/consumer quite as well. Keep up the good work, love your channel.

I actually desperately needed this. I just got my first post college job on Friday with a great salary increase and I want to start replacing several items that long over due, including my iPad and Apple Watch. I have the original 9.7 inch iPad Pro and it is really showing its age. My Series 4 watch is holding up quite well so that one can wait. I think an iPad Air is my ideal buy. It would pair nicely with my upgraded M2 MBA. I mostly use my iPad as a media device so screen quality is important but I don’t need the extra power, or cost, of the iPad Pros, and I don’t upgrade iPads often so longevity is also critical. The M1 Air will probably receive updates a lot longer than the A series iPads since it is a more powerful chip. I may wait until they update the Air with the M2. I haven’t heard any rumors but I don’t see why they wouldn’t add the chip at some point.

I usually don’t buy preowned, but I’ll also consider the M1 11 in iPad Pro. It’s only $40 more than a new M1 Air.
