Genuine question: Who actually gets regular use out of their iPad? Or is it just that it’s got a bigger screen than your phone? With so many iPads to choose from at the moment, here’s my reasoning that, actually, the iPad Mini is the only one you need in 2023.

Do you own an iPad? If so, what do you actually use it for?

I have an 11 inch 2018 iPad Pro. I use this everyday and take it with me places a lot of the time. I use it for watching video but I also use it for my school work and for journaling. I love mine!

I ‘downsized’ from the 11” iPad Pro to the iPad mini last year and haven’t looked back since. I use it ALL THE TIME. If Apple can cram in a brighter, higher res screen, it’d be perfect.

I've used a 12.9" iPad Pro (2018) almost every day since I bought it in 2019. I bought it as a note-taking device for college and work, and now I use it as an e-reader, personal TV at the gym, to play games, and basically as my travel laptop. I use it with the Magic Keyboard sometimes and just a folio case other times. It's one of my favorite devices.

EDIT: Yes, all-in, it was about $1, 800. I regret nothing.

I could not agree more that the iPad mini is the best choice. I have both the mini and the larger iPad Air. I use the mini 75% of the time. The best part of the mini is that you can hold it easily with one hand which makes it very comfortable to use when you are lying down on a couch or bed. It is so easy to travel with. I am thrilled to hear that Apple is working to upgrade the Mini, which I will definitely consider buying when it is released.

I couldn’t agree more, adding the iPad Mini into my daily lineup has been game changing. Having this, an Apple Watch Ultra (Cellular), and an iPhone 13 Mini (Wi-Fi), I feel like when I’m home my phone just collects dust on my nightstand, and when I’m out and about I have content downloaded to my iPad Mini, have my watch for checking notifications/communicating with people, and my phone only comes out of my pocket on a rare occasion to capture a moment or mindlessly scroll social media for a few minutes. 10/10 recommend the iPad Mini!

I’ve been using my 11” iPad Pro constantly since it came out, including upgrading to the M1 version. I use it for everything… Social media, writing and spreadsheets, video editing, photo editing, scanning every piece of paper that comes into my house into Goodnotes and on and on and on. I also bought a used Mini 4 for the other day to see if it seemed useful, and I absolutely love it. I think I’ll upgrade to a Mini 6 but I will still keep the 11 inch as my main desktop workhorse.

Wanted to comment on your video, Was just about to pull the trigger on an iPad Pro along with a MacBook Pro I was planning to get, then found your video on the mini did some research and got the 256 GB mini instead and man. THANK YOU, this thing is the bees knees and is a great step in for walking around the house reading stuff or watching YouTube and playing stuff like old school RuneScape. Cheers my friend and felt you deserved the comment! Thanks again!

My lady has an iPad regular size and after handling both I am happy with the mini, not to knock on or say the regular iPad isn't useful for certain peoples needs but for what I needed between my laptop and phone this is phenomenal.

I gave up on buying the big iPads a long time ago. Just didn't fit my workflow or lifestyle. But the Mini has been my go to since its launch, and is even better now with the pencil to sketch and take notes. It's definitely my go-to for reading comics and ebooks, because I can hold it one handed and not get fatigued like with bigger iPads.

I have a 4th gen iPad air, and I use it for… Well, a lot of things. Watching any type of content is perfect on an 11 inch screen, drawing is also really pleasant, nomad sculpt also delivers a great sculpting experience to an iPad (though if you are going to take sculpting seriously, you might consider buying iPad Pro, as, even with my low effort sculpts, it still lags quite a bit). iPad is also amazing for studying: checking your marks, making ToDo lists, reading books and even doing notes and homework. If you want a perfect all-in-one solution to study, watch content and draw/sculpt, I think iPad is a great choice!

Two years after purchasing my ipad M1 12.9, I still use it rigorously. I’m a digital artist and comic illustrator, and also a photography enthusiast and often time a “vlogger”. I edit all photos and videos using my iPad. This is my primary computer.

I 100% agree. I’ve tried other iPads but keep coming back to the mini. I have my phone with me all day while I’m out of the house, but once I’m home it sits on my desk. The mini 6 is perfect for me to keep with me as I roam around the house. It’s the perfect size for being online, using social media, reading, or even taking calls of I have to. It really meets almost all my needs. I have a MacBook Air for when I need a laptop, and the mini for when I don’t. It doesn’t pretend to be a laptop like other iPads. Plus it’s great to travel with. It’s small enough to fit in any bag I take and can access all my media so I can connect it to the hotel tvs.

That's why I consider 8 inch to be the sweet spot for tablets. Not big to be cumbersome, not small to be a smartphone. Just the right side to do big things on smaller scale. The iPad mini really is the best of both worlds in terms of mobile on the go productivity and online connection.

I have heard some people say that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is too big or too expensive. However, I have found that the larger screen is perfect for watching movies, playing games, and working on spreadsheets. The 5G cellular option also means that I can stay connected to the internet even when I am not near a Wi-Fi hotspot. Overall, I have been very happy with my iPad Pro, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a powerful and versatile tablet.

I use my 11 inch ipadpro so much for personal administration, investing, writing books, light video editing, watching movies, tutorials for cooking, store all my documents, tracking payments of bills, do anything i would do on the pc including studying and runing business. Ipad is ultimate multimedia school home administrative device on the planet. I use it so much actualy cause its so easy to carry battery lasts long and the magic keyboard transforms it into the laptop on demand.

Bought a 7th generation refurbished iPad in December 2021. I use it every day. Average about 6-7 hours daily ( I’m retired) Only use the iPhone 6 for calls and texts. It’s getting upgraded in September. Also have a 2009 white MacBook I use occasionally. But yeah iPad is my daily driver.

My iPad Pro 12.9 inch is my laptop basically. My files stay in iCloud, my saves projects are within apps. Has all the apps I can ask for, and also used as a media device. Im never on my iPhone either until I go out form work or home.

I have an iPad mini 4 and use it every day for a variety of tasks: email, shopping, internet browsing, games, YouTube, news, and a lot of ebook reading. Love it’s size and portability.

I got a 12.9 iPad about 2 years ago and barely used it for a while. Then I got the Magic Keyboard and I’ve been using it everyday since then. I honestly couldn’t imagine a day going by without using it. I work from home and mostly use it to time myself to make sure I’m completing tasks in a reasonable time limit. I also am constantly streaming things that aren’t too distracting…… Spotify, Netflix, YouTube… etc.

It’s not feasible to try to use the iPad while working without a keyboard. There are too many steps that come with using it that makes it more of a distraction. Having it with a keyboard puts everything’s within easy reach.

I keep seeing videos telling us no one uses their iPad. The iPad is the device I use the most. 😂
