I recently bought an iPad air 5, I'm beyond satisfied, it's an excellent tablet, I disagree with the creator's opinion, compared to air 5, the pro is quite a bit more expensive, it's quite a big difference in price

🐬 I currently have the 7th gen iPad and preordered the 10th gen, and going to give the 7th gen to my boyfriend, since it still takes software updates. I was debating on the air vs regular, for screen real estate, but decided to wait to see what the iPad update looked like, and I’m glad I did. I don’t do much with my tablet, past media consumption and light task work. So a basic tablet like the 10th gen works great for my needs.

Love this comprehensive overview. I don’t agree that most users want to outfit their iPads to function as computers. The average user wants to stream videos and surf the web. Grab an Air, or even an entry level iPad, and you’re good to go. Want some productivity? Spend $70 and you can get a Logitech keyboard and mouse that will make it easy to take notes or do a bit of work.

I purchased the base model iPad mini 6 when it released and I've been very pleased with it, it's a great little device.

🐬 I was really hoping this year iPad Pro 11 inch would get mini LED I just love that on the 12. 9 inch but it’s a little bit too big for what I want to use the iPad for.

Like you, I use the 12.9 as my main way to work in my business. I will be upgrading from my 2020 iPad Pro but a bit disappointed they didn’t change the orientation of the FaceTime camera but still looks like a good device.

The m1 ipad pro 11 inch is literally the best deal, especially comparing it to the air.

I love the 11 inch iPad Pro M2 idea because you get everything the M1 iPad Pro offers. Both M1 and M2 iPad Pros cost the same, $799 retail. M2 will be much better with Pro Res Decode/Encode with video editors. M2 isn't too much my personal style. This part is a rather interesting rant that I found out with hardware specs. M2 with it's 4 performance cores (clocked at 3.5ghz) is impressive, especially from its low power draw. This is different, but, think of the Xbox Series S. The console (Series S) has up to 4 Teraflops of GPU power. M2 has almost that at about 3.6 Teraflops. PS5 has at each of its cores clocked at 3.5Ghz like M2's P Cores. The Steam Deck has a base clock CPU speed of 2.4Ghz. The E-cores in the M2 have 2.4Ghz each. It's as if the Steam Deck, Xbox Series S, and PS5 are related to M2 devices such as iPad Pro, M2 MacBook Air, and the M2 MacBook Pro. It's weird, yet they're all like a family. Love the video 9to5Mac.The videos have helped me get the right iPad for my needs. I chose the iPad Pro M1 with 2TB for Light productivity and gaming. Keep up the good work.

Decided to get the iPad Air 5, it’s design AND M1 chip was my selling point. I do a lot of mobile gaming.

I’m kinda offended lol the iPad Air is great iPad. Had it but gifted it to my mother in law when my wife gave me her iPad Pro. My mother in law says it’s a great tablet. Perfect size and very light.

Great job with this video and breaking down all the iPad options. TBH, I just want an iPad to stream and light internet use. Having an iPad with a vibrant color would also be welcomed. Seems like none of these are what I am looking for and that is very, very frustrating! 🐬

I love my iPad Air 4 it does everything I need having promotion and other features are not a necessity for me and I am pretty sure I am not the only one that feels that way I use my iPad for sketching and video editing and it works perfectly fine for me nice video though hope you have a nice day

I would seriously love the 9 Gen iPad. It seems like it would be good enough for all my needs, and I love the old-school form factor.

Quick correction. The 9th gen ipad actually comes with the A13 bionic, not the A12. I waited for the reveal of the 10th gen. l was really on the fence about which to buy. I ended up trading in my mini 5 and going with the 9th gen. I'm scoring a 9th gen for just $299 with 256 GB, after trade in. The 10 is just overpriced for what it offers. Sure, you'll likely get an additional year of support for your $120 but that's not a good enough reason to purchase. Even at 1 year old the gen 9 will be supported for at least the next 4 years(maybe more, as the average is 6 with an additional 2 years of security patch minimum) The reality is that very few will actually hold on to their tablets for long enough to reap the reward of the assumed extra year of full OS upgrade. The problem with the 10th gen is that it seemingly cuts the wrong corners and is(as others have said)overpriced. Whether you buy the 9th or 10th gen, you're nonetheless buying a two year old chipset under the hood, at minimum; that's exactly why price is so important, at the low end and why the 10 is a bad buy, at current pricing.

iPad 9 is the right one for me since it's already paid for and it's new enough that I'll be getting updates for years to come. However I wish I could upgrade to an iPad Mini.

Love the iPad mini 6 solely for form factor. In Oz, the M2 iPad Pro was $200 more expensive, I was hoping for landscape camera and a few other upgrades…. I’ve been waiting since I bought my Mini for an upgrade and it seems I waited for nothing, so the day after the drop I bought the iPad M1 Pro, Magic Keyboard and saved myself well over AU$200. Also agree wasted use or rather iPad iOS not optimised for Mini, disappointing (hope iOS 16 addresses that, probably wont). Well now I finally have a M1 11-inch Pro I intend to use instead of my questionable 2018 Touchbar MBP (512K) - I really was waiting to see if there was an update to iMac M1, so I have held off that for quite some time. I think Apple has lost the plot - greedy, not listening to its VERY LOYAL fan base, and in all honesty, rooting / taking advantage of them. The lightning adapter for pencil 1 support? WTF??? 🐬

I hear your explanation but, what if you don’t need the storage space, 3g or want keyboard on a tablet because you already have a MacBook? Your not thinking about the Air right, it has an M1, the new body style and it’s basically $499 on sale. IMO the Air is the best deal out there for a tablet user.

iPad Air 4th gen if you get a good deal. Because it's the same as the new iPad, just different colours and camera on different side. Also air will use Apple Pencil 2 without needing a dongle.. So buy an air 4th gen... unless you want a 12.9 iPad, then get the pro

In my opinion, Apple perhaps saw a recession might be coming, so it spend extra efforts in adding new features to budget iPad instead of the M2 iPad Pro (which is not worth it at all, compared to the M1 iPad Pro), Admittedly, the support of 1st gen pencil is a little awkward, but unless you’re a Pro user, an Apple Pencil really doesn’t add much additional functionality for iPad users (I have an Apple Pencil myself but I rarely use it). The new keyboard is a little pricey (still cheaper than Magic Keyboard but with functional keys), but you can likely buy a third party keyboard for much less. Compared to other iPads in the lineup, the 10th generation iPad is actually a great device if you’re in need of a new iPad.
