When you're talking about a similar unit, despite not being greatswords, Bladesingers are extremely similar to them. Bloodletters just trade out melee stats and speed for more weapon strength, bonus vs infantry and raw tankiness

Every time I look at Exalted Bloodletters I end up stuck on thinking of them as fragile - they have similar MD to Warriors, only 10% more health and just over one third the Armor. But in action, they hold up much better in melee than you'd expect. I wonder if the sheer killing power means that against infantry they just kill models too fast for them to hit back properly.

Excellent imo, I've had them win many games for me. They are a good balanced unit at the right price. The biggest weakness they have against Nurgle is the grenade attack from the Exalted Plaguebearers, AOE drain and surprisingly the Toads are very cost effective against them! Also don't forget the Soul Grinder which hard carries the Nurgle roster.

Yeah, after seeing Turin use a similar build against Nurgle in his Khorne ladder livestream, I gave it a try myself and it works wonders. I personally prefer 3 exalteds over 2 + cultists since it gives you a really strong anti-infantry unit to sit near mid and threaten a cap with after you've secured the other two points... as long as you can keep it safe that is. The cultists definitely offer better early game gooning potential though and, if you time it right, you can do a quick attack on the Soul Grinder and then rampage them out of the Nurgle blob where the GUO can't support and then just pick it apart with your SE's. Turning an enemy unit's strength (speed in this case) into a weakness is so satisfying when you can pull it off.

I wonder if Bladesingers might be the only elite infantry that could trade cost effectively into exalted bloodletters? Magic damage, can activate their low-ap high weapon damage mode, don’t have armour so the bloodletters waste their AP… but it’s certainly not a sure thing. Can’t wait to be able to test it!

Bloody Hell Dahv I was just about to upload a video this thursday about how exalted BLs are probably the optimal opening unit for Khorne VS Nurgle. THIS THURSDAY and you beat me to it. Now everyone is just gonna say I was copying you 😢😢😢

Yeah as Nurgle … it’s not clear … what you can really do against that.

If you can cost effectively shoot Exalted Bloodletters, that’s fine. But if you have limited shooting options … yeesh.

interestingly, i was in a khorne mirror match which i'd pretty much won by this point and i dcided to charge a beat-up skarbrand into my opponent's exalted bloodletters. he took like 1500 damage on the charge alone and died. they're surprisingly good against everything

The more they kill, the stronger they get. So in the late game when you bring them in again they are mega op.

This makes sense, nurgle sucks at controlling different points, but are great in defending one
