The drugs usually work by boosting levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain.

Before I got the proper diagnosis (at 28!), they tried antidepressants on me. Those didn't help me at all, I hated being sedated and I still couldn't manage my life better. I was nervous about stimulants because I was afraid they would fuel my stock-market-like brain even more, but actually, the opposite is the case! It's a huge relief to finally perceive the world as well as my own thoughts more clearly!

Being diagnosed is very okay than not being diagnosed. when you know that there is something wrong with you or your child despite trying your best then seeking help is a good thing. It will make your life and your children a lot better.. that's based on my experience.

I took part in our workshop on family cut offs. I just got dx with ADD and PTSD two weeks ago at age 57. I googled trauma and ADD and this video came up. Your info is so helpful. Thanks.

This isn't an explanation of how the meds work, it's a history lesson on adhd medications. Hello?

You know what's odd
I was on ADHD Medicine in grade school I was great in class I didn't bother the teachers and they didn't bother and my grades were great then my parents took me off if it and.... Well.... Let's just say I wasn't the best

it does nothing to me. Started with 18 mg. Then 36mg. Tomorrow going to take 54 mg. My life is still bad, memory still super bad. Brain fog unimaginable and concentration still non existent. One of two things for me, I'm really crazy and braindead or the medication is useless on me, because I might as well drink a ton of chalk pills.

Not sure what med I was put on but it gave me OCD. I would repeatedly and aggressively retrace over letters and numbers if they did t feel right the first time I wrote them until I tore through the page.

Adults addicted to ilissed amphetmines, need help as much as adults who refused the medication after diagnosis at age 8/9 and self medicated with sport, consistent behavioural examining. Not consuming sugar until mid 20s as a side effect to antipsychotic medication- ability seroquel, olanzeapone, .

Sounds like these people need exercise to me.

No unwanted side effects there.
