It's an amazing feeling when you take the pill and it starts to get quiet in your head. And suddenly you can function normally.

Mine is more so like a whiny child in my head that doesn’t want to do anything. It’s extremely stressful dealing with those feelings.

Today was my first day with medication. The silence was overwhelming first... but now after almost 12 hours I can start to enjoy it.

Except, and this is coming from a person who took it 2 times a day since i was 5 until just recently and im 20 now. It curves appitite i was unhealthyly underweight for years. I was 60 pounds and could not get weight on me to save my life. Constantly cold because of me being underweight and i was depressed. The meds didnt just stop me from being distracted it caused me to stop feeling. I didnt feel happy or mad just sad all the time and it got to the point where i wouldn't leave my bed for days on end. This is a fair warning to those that take adhd meds. Be carefully. Please

I wish I could feel the same thing. I'm too diagnosed with ADHD and have been on ritalin since 3 months but it only treat my ADHD symptom to around 30% only.

Sadly, my country only have two options for ADHD, 1) methyphenidate 2) atomixetine

First option doesn't work for me, if second option too doesn't works for me then I'm screwed big time. But I'm happy it works for you tho. 👏

It’s wild that this is exactly how it felt to take adderall for the first time. Now I am about to talk to a psychiatrist. But I’m worried about taking it regularly. Here’s to hoping it works out for the best. And I don’t need a high dose.

last week was the first time I used ADHD medication, and I was able to heard silence for the first time. I remember I was washing my face in the morning in the bathroom and the only thing I heard was the stream of water falling from the faucet. It didn't last too much though. I think I'll adjustament in the medication.

Well taking meds maybe 3-4mos but still waiting on progress w/Clutter, Public Anxiety and Focus & Concentration on the job. I can't move my office or shut off the phone so it's tough dealing with Distractions & organizational skills. Everyone sees it as excuses.

This video is very misleading- meds are cool and are a large part of the treatment, but to truly treat this disorder and manage it properly, there is so much more to it than just popping a pill and everything is suddenly quiet, peaceful and productive. It's unfortunate that we live in such a "microwave" world these days, i.e., that a doctor can just throw pills at a person for a problem they describe and voila, it looks on the surface like everything is suddenly and magically healed. Depressed? Overweight? Can't think? Can't sleep? Can't perform in bed? No worries, there's a pill for that. Matter of fact, there's a pill for almost everything these days. Make no mistake, meds are certainly necessary in many of today's medical conditions that present in us these days, but that is usually less than half of the remedy.
