The entire point isn't to really hurt the oligarchs. The point is that they are holding much of Putin's money. Cutting them off also cuts off Putin.

The sanctions on oligarchs are not causing gas price hike, that is due to sanction on Nord Stream 2 and Russian gas in general. There is an attempt to increase production in other countries including US to bring the price back down.

No, they will not. Oli sells to India. Oligarchs moves to Dubai, tik tokers and influencers too. France does not see any reason to stop its business operations in Russia. Many people invested in VPN masking of their Russian IP, others launder money using crypto currencies. So no, big money still circulates around and doing well.

Never for a moment in my life did I think think that individual businessmen could be sanctioned for no crime, but just for being a citizens of a country at war.
Very strange how human rights work in the west !!!!
As for the Russian businessmen men it is a lesson learnt the hard way.Invest your wealth in your own country !!!

The threat from Putin is he can turn off oil and gas tomorrow and press the nuclear button the next day . He is an old man and his life candle is flickering.
