Squat Depth For A Tall Guy

STOP THE QUARTER SQUAT REVOLUTION

Height: 6'9"
Squat Weight: 155lbs

This was done after doing my 5/3/1 finishing with 245x8 followed by 195 for 5. I typically don't get quite this deep with heavy weight simply because my stance is wider compared to what you see here... but anything less than parallel = no good in my opinion.

I don't think height has to do with it as much as you think. In fact, I think more potential for muscle mass makes it an advantage in the long run. You could be a short 6'0 like me, but I have long ass legs for my height so squatting for me might be harder than someone who's taller but with better proportions.

6'6 here and my mobility is trash. The strength is there, I just cant get past parallel for shit.

That's great form for a tall guy. Good job! I'm 193cm tall and also good at squatting.. Never had problem building my legs.. they're over 28 inches almost 29 now (73cm) but as with taller guys I suck at bench press 264lbs/120kgx1 max. I don't know what my squat max is but I did 3x160kg/354lbs and I could do more but I have weak lower back so I never do max on deadlift or squats. My dad and grandpa have a bad lower back also so it's genetics. -.-

Bro I swear you are built exactly the same as me. I squat parallel or below No half reps for me, i belive it's cheating yourself. my best is 250 pounds for 3 reps. I am 6 foot 3 or 4 not sure and I weigh around 205 and I have a hard time with compound movements my best bench press is 255×1.

I'm 6'6, and squats for me are actually decent. I have gotten 315, and my goal is 450. I squat ATG for 3 reps, since past 3 is when my form breaks. Should I continue doing 3 reps at a time, or should I do more reps to build my endurance?

What sort of stretching do you do man, I'm 6'6-8 depending on time of day and struggle getting deep with any weight at all. Distribution in feet seems to be quite the pain on the way up which I believe is hamstring and/or quad tightness. Any advice is great. I currently foam roll quads calves and thorasic spine. I'm looking for real good hamstring stretches if you can point me in the right direction of ones that work for you rather than ones that work for 5'11 average folk! Ty

6'4 220 lbs checking-in! Anything above parallel doesn't count. Just got done doing 5 X 7 @ 330 lbs yesterday and last week was 5 X 3 @ 365 with an AMRAP of 8 on the last one. Ha! Also high bar :)
