I was 18, my husband was 21 and we didn’t have money for expensive rings! We are married and still together for 52 years! Can’t imagine something else!❤️❤️

"even when you're angry at them and still flick on the coffee machine in the morning because you know they need that" my heart 🥺

Don’t always follow your heart! Your heart often lies to you. Make sure you use a lot of logic as well.

You know the good, know the bad, know the ugly, know everything about that person and still love that person, that's a healthy and long lasting relationship ❤.

No dating app can beat the wisdom of real life experiences like the couples you have interviewed..this is reality...

I have uninstalled my dating app. There's something very superficial about it. It's like a woman or a man has to market oneself to find love, and quite honestly, it's exhausting. It's always better for love to find you. Until then, evolving oneself into the person you are seeking is a great thing. So, fingers crossed there...

I married my high school sweetheart 37 years ago. We were best friends because we enjoyed similar activities, and we were both committed to our faith. We were young and in love, but we were intentional about making it work. We went to premarital counseling, and we worked to do things that we knew would strengthen our bond. We waited 5 years before having kids, we moved away from family in order to get jobs that we enjoyed, and we had fun meeting new people and traveling.
Now we are empty-nesters, awaiting the birth of our first grandchild. We love spending time with our adult children, both of whom are happily married. Life isn't easy, but it's so much better going through it with your best friend! 😊

Been with husband for more than a decade. Fight to keep each other. Be on each other's team. Most often than not, couples fight to be right, to one up the other. You can disagree but always fight to keep the peace in the relationship

WE NEED GROUPS DOING THINGS TOGETHER. THAT IS HOW MOST PEOPLE USED TO MEET.

My husband and i met as babies, started dating at 15 and 16 and married at 18 and 19. Now in our 30s with 17 wonderful years together. Weve had a partner for every struggle life has thrown at us and grew together. Some said we were too young, but it was the best decision we ever made. Some say travel first, but the most beautiful view in the world would mean nothing to me if he wasnt by my side. Marriage is hard work but well worth it with the right person and a beautiful sacred gift. ❤

There was so many beautiful moments in this! The couple on the couch needs to write a book or do a TED talk.

My advice is find a partner you can be best friends with as well as a lover! Paul and Linda McCartney would be the epitome of the ideal relationship

"I deleted my dating app two years ago because I still believe that God has a Godly woman prepared for me. I'm unsure when we'll meet, but I continue to pray for her."

I think comparing with older couples is difficult because they didn’t have the main contributors to current issues with relationships = MOBILE PHONES. There are major communication issues today where we use the phones to communicate so no one talks anymore let alone face to face. Covid added to this too. Dating has become an unfortunate minefield where many are mistreating the system ie they join apps when they are unhealed, angry and perhaps sometimes still in relationships which creates further pain to those involved.
As one of the guys say ‘take this a flush it down the toilet’ re the phone.
