I honestly struggle to believe people would choose 50 strangers over the 1 person they love. In a situation like that (thank god this is highly unlikely to happen) it's impossible to stay that objective. I'm not loosing the person I love over just 50 other people, no matter who they are. Would it haunt me? yes, but I wouldn't regret it.
