There are over 6,500 languages in the world. But the one language we all share is sometimes the most complicated to understand—love. We traveled around the world to meet couples whose love has stood the test of time. Each of our couples have been together for at least 30 years (some as many as 61!) and they’ve picked up plenty of wisdom about life and love and marriage along the way. From Ghana to Brazil, from St. John, Indiana, to the Philippines, this is what love looks like around the world.

I think old couples are cuter than young ones. You know they have just been through so much life together

My wife and I have been married 4 years, but we've been together for 11 years. We met in high school gym class, and started dating on April 11, 2009. Stuck it through college, her studying abroad, our military service, hard times and heartbreaking loss. We've traveled abroad, seen all sorts of things in all sorts of places. We married on the shores of Oslofjord, Norway, on April 11, 2016, at 4 pm, as the afternoon sun glittered on the waves. We celebrated our first anniversary together, and our second a thousand miles apart. Our third we celebrated in the hospital, welcoming our beautiful daughter into the world just two days later.

We learned from the best, however. My grandparents were together 60+ years, and never seemed to lose their spark.

I know this means little to the internet, but I'm so thankful for the love in and of my life.

The staff of a particular store in our city say they can't ever forget my parents because of a conversation they had in the store:
Mom: Is there anything you want from the store?
Dad: Nope. Because everything I ever wanted, I already found in you.
48 years of marriage and I feel like I'm with lovestruck teenagers whenever I'm around them. They even have the same birthday. Take that, Disney fairytales.

Those couples listened to each other and had patience for each person's flaws. Too bad, love just isn't for everybody.

I'm not gonna lie, I watched this video while telling myself: "I hope I could find "the one" and be like them too".

The Greek couple (Anastasia and Demetris) really touched my heart.... He said marry me and I'll carry you if you can't walk.. And then he helped her put on her shoes..If that isn't love I dont know what else is

"You cannot be selfish when it comes to (truly) loving someone."

This! ....

I totally agree!

...Now to find someone that thinks the same way!

My parents were just shy 23 days of being married 66 years. They were married 12/21/41 and every month on the 21st my Dad would wish my Mom Happy Anniversary! There were a couple of months in the last few years together that my Dad forgot and that concerned me so I mentioned it to their doctor, he said "You mean to tell me you tell her that every month?" Dad shook his head yes, then the doctor replied "That's not normal! Forgetting is normal so you're fine." They passed away within a year and 10 days of each other. I always knew that would be the case. They were buried in a veteran's cemetery, Dad was retired military, so only one headstone is used with the epitaph of each on opposite sides. Mom's read "Until we meet again, " then on Dad's "Together at last." I miss them terribly, they were wonderful people.

My great grandparents were Inseparable, I remember gramps telling us that when he left for ww2 he promised he would never leave her side again after that. They both died 4 years ago within a month, gramps was the last to go. Still makes me tear up that he kept his promise.

My aunt and her husband were always so in love, if someone tells him she's catching a cold or any little sick he gets crazy and don't believe it. His friends joke with him that way ! They cared so much about each other but sadly one day he got an unexpected heart attack and passed away.. from that moment my aunt didn't get over the shock and her memory is worsening.. I can't imagine a bigger love than that😢 Plz pray for her to get better🌸

I’m a Bisaya from the Philippines, and when asked “what bothers you about your partner” to that couple who speaks my dialect, I laughed out loud because the guy said “nothing bothers me about her” and his wife says “yeah, right(not “that’s right”).” I guffawed because that’s our humor right there 😂
