My parents have been married for 21 years and the only thing they constantly argue about is an incident that happened over twenty years ago when my mom supposedly shut the refrigerator door in front of my dad on purpose. Mom says she didn't and can't understand why he thinks she did. Dad will more than likely go to his grave perpetually annoyed by the offense. The man acts like she drowned the dog with how serious he takes it.

It's fascinating to me how the older they got, the more often they started admitting their own faults (like saying "it's because *I* would do this, while he/she...") whereas the younger ones often blamed it on their spouse right away and defended themselves.
