I've been jonesing for a 4Runner from the time they first came out until now. Every one I test drove used (by owner) was a frame-rotted, mechanically neglected POS from the early-mid 90's. When I test drove a new one for the first time the other day, holy crap, what a difference. Instant love! I'd take one of these over a luxury car ANY day. Bought the SR5 Premium with 4x4, which I really didn't need since I live in FL, but now I have an excuse to go hit the back roads in the Ocala National Forest. Wooh!

I have a 2004 4Runner with215k miles and still running strong. Such a great SUV!

Wow I think you made a solid choice. Yes this vehicle is old and it gets horrendous gas mileage, but you bought a vehicle that is meant to last even after the least is up: it will give you little to no problems, and it just has that Toyota build quality. Plus, you get that offroad capability. And yes it has character from the harsh ride quality, to the rugged look, the old 4.0L V6 with that 5-speed automatic, and the steering is very slow and truckish. Not a lot of vehicles ride like this anymore, and the 4Runner is one of those vehicles that I think is so different from many other midsize SUVs out there. I would be happy if Toyota still kept this generation 4Runner like this and sells it like this every year.

I bought a 4Runner SR5 Premium 2024. It's just a bloody Toyota, dependable and reliable. No headaches for a bloody long time. I hate going to a garage so I bought the 4RUNNER.

Kevin, thank you for the referral. I ended up leasing a TRD OR Premium from Jim your broker. Mine looks the same as yours btw. Thanks my friend for the connection. Note: I’m in NC also.

Had a 2006 4Runner Sport and loved it. Tried to find a new one last year but could not. Ended up getting a 2023 GX which is a wonderful vehicle but still love the 4Runner.

We just bought a 2024 sr5 premium 4wd with 3rd row with 5k miles on it for 46k out the door. We also bought a 2018 lexus gx 460 premium with 39k miles for 34k for the wife. We love both!

To your point, there is no other alternative to the 4Runner! I have two! The 4Runner also ages very well. The older gens. still look great! Built at the Tahara plant, the best auto. factory in the world, no debate!

Same to me. I just brand new 2024 4Runner Limited 4x4. The price was $57k, and I was called in love at first sight. I rolled over 50 miles on the first day I came to pick up the vehicle at the dealership. I wait until Toyota brings back 300 series Land Cruiser into the North America market.

Till now, I love my dream ride every single mile.... ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

I bought a 2024 T4R TRD Off Road for $42K before taxes in Dec 2023 and doing all the upgrade myself. I'm very happy, so far. Great SUV.

IMO there really are no competing products to the Toyota 4Runner, It is a well proven reliable and durable vehicle that will give you very few bad surprises, if any. It may not be as high tech, but that another reason for it's reliability. The power train is bullet-proof, the interior may be a little spartan, but it's nice and comfortable. All in all you can't go wrong with a 4Runner. I have a 2003 V8 limited AWD and it will be around for a long time yet.

Was dead set on the same exact spec you have but being in CA, markups are stupid on these vehicles. I was fortunate enough to buy one used as a trade in at my dealer. Ended up with a 2023 ORP 15k miles and even though I didn’t need the extra off road items, couldn’t pass it up being 41k out the door. Happy with my purchase and my kids will have it one day

Good informative review. In January I purchased a new SR5 2wd at a nice discount. It has all I need and I love it. I feel like you do about driving it. Very connected and enjoyable. I'm 67 so this should be the last vehicle I'll need. I drive fairly easy and with the 2wd I've averaged 22.0 for the first 2000 miles I've driven. I'm comfortable with that! Hope you enjoy yours!

What a badass car. Has an exquisite look and an unmatched reliability. I doubt that the next gen would even be as remotely durable as this beast. Congrats sir!

I purchased the exact same 4Runner that you did. Exactly the same. I traded in a 2022 TRD Sport and as far as I’m concerned, this was an upgrade. The SR5 Premium has all of the features that I wanted a just did have on my TRD Sport. Good choice.
