Overview of Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Download Keto Essentials

In this video, Dr. Berg talks about how to boost your dopamine levels with the ketogenic diet. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that transmits communication through the nervous system and it is produced in various parts of the brain like in the nucleus accumbens. Dopamine is involved in motivation, drive, and reward(pleasure sensation).

Ketogenic diet helps normalize insulin which has a huge role in regulating dopamine. If you have a history of consuming a lot of carbohydrates, your dopamine might be very low because of insulin resistance.

Conditions involved with Dopamine
• Addiction
• Depression
• Insulin Resistance

Other Causes of Depression
• Chronic Fatigue
• Low Blood Sugars
• Low Dopamine

After being on a Cocaine, Percocet, Alcohol, sugar-carb diet I became extremely apathetic. I tried quitting drugs but didnt realize food was a drug itself and I needed to fix it first before quitting drugs. The transition was a lot smoother by going keto and then quitting drugs. Thank you Dr. Berg for being the Keto messiah.

This is a really great topic. Not much videos available about this. Everybody just cares about weight loss and body composition.. Mental health and emotional stability are the biggest benifits of the keto diet I consider. That's the main reason I have been sticking to keto diet for years. I have never had issue with being overweight.. Many thanks

Today I was in a health store and mentioned Dr. Berg. They already knew and are following this on youtube, too. Dr. Berg and Karen are getting around in a good way. :)

There are a few tweaks that I made with this diet that help dopamine: cutting out caffeine entirely and consuming organic protein, especially at breakfast. If you have low blood sugar issues, don’t miss that 3-6 ounce protein breakfast or protein for any meal. Also adding a kale shake in the morning helps establish good blood sugars.

I never understood “druggies” that were hooked on crack, heroin, methamphetamine etc until I had 2 spinal operations in 2015 and ended up on daily fast and slow release oxycodone (essentially legal heroin) for 4+ years.
I weaned off it completely a few months ago but omg, such a painful process. Luckily for me I don’t have an addictive personality and I’m quite a strong headed person, but I can see how people struggle to get off the harder drugs (legal or illegal) and if they have no support and fall through the cracks end up living a life on the streets. I have huge respect for anyone who can get clean. It’s a rough road! Kia kaha

I have c-ptsd(especially, I'm suffering from hypervigilance) and personality disorder, and once I was forced to undergo ECT by my doctor and my mother. After that I suffered from memory loss and a headache.
By the way, I started taking vitamin B1 and nutritional yeast after watching Dr. Berg's videos, then nightmares got improved and I feel more stable now than I ever have in my life. Of course I'm practicing healthy keto( but not always perfectly, I'm working on it.)
Thank you very very much, Dr. Berg!🤗💗

Thank you Dr. Berg. I lowered my carb intake after noticing how anxious and lethargic they made me. I feel much more energetic and happier on keto.

A new big discovery for keto -grapes leaves=low carb (like sauerkraut-used for cabbage rolls-replace rice with mushrooms & cauliflower);a little bitter work every time!

I wondered if psych drugs and stress affect the dopamine, too? Dr. Berg has said (about the drugs) yes. Anyway, now that the cortisol issue is being worked on, this dopamine one seems very important, as well! I cannot believe the goodness in these tutorials. I went into fib in March (2019), hadn't really been physically functioning since March 2018 because my interior was in so much pain. Omega 3 helped but it only went so far. I've only been watching Dr. Berg since April, right after having a cardio version. I'm not fully recovered, but I am recovering. The quality of my sleep is improving, along with my overall health. Last night I slept for 9.5 hours without interruption. I've needed that kind of sleep. The drugs I was put on by the cardiologist are necessary, but I see that as one step. Because after a few days out of the hospital after the cardioversion my health started declining again. I was thinking I might have to go back to the hospital (to die). Then I started FOLLOWING Dr. Berg's advice. I even checked with the pharmacist, then added enzymes for direct liver support, because the drugs the cardiologist gave me would naturally be going through the already troubled liver and not helping that. Yes, the liver was in big trouble. I researched more the potassium deficiency issue, cautious because of my poor health. Just two days ago I way upped the dose of potassium and guess what? Voila! Within about 24 hours my interior started responding in very positive ways. From applying these things Dr. Berg is showing us; the fasting periods (not snacking), turning off the computer by 8:30pm, etc., my pancreas, gall bladder, guts, , lungs, nor esophagus are no longer in pain like they were. And they were in BIG pain. And, from the potassium, my heart is settling down, big time. I am recovering. Really and truly, I am recovering. Hooray. I am so grateful for this information. And now here is Dr. Berg showing me what to do about the motivational energy that has plummeted. Hooray! Thank you!!!

Electric shock therapy is ONE of the options if someone is resistant, another option is TMS which is just magnetic stimulation. Its painless and harmless.. works well in conjunction with keto and ACTUALLY dealing with issues through therapy
