It's funny to me that what you put forward as coping skills is stuff I used to just do on my own anyway but got so much hassle from my family because they didn't "believe in autism". "Why do you change your clothes every few hours?" BECAUSE THESE ONES NEED TO COME OFF DEBORAH

My coworkers don’t believe how done I am on fridays. Everyone’s out having fun and I’m at home crashed -and recharging.

Steps:

1. Reset your body

- Change clothes
- Wash face
- Brush teeth
2. Drink water
- Other chemicals in your body need the chemicals in water. Give your body your clear medication

Thank you! It’s 3pm on a Sunday. I’m sitting on my couch still in my pajama’s. I’m trying to will myself to get up and do all the things I had planned but am feeling too overwhelmed to start.
You have just broken down the steps to help get me moving!! 💕 So grateful for this content.

YES! this is the content i need now. im tired of the 'relatable' content. now i want to know HOW to manage my AuDHD. and while i might be doing some of these on my own too, its nice to have it quantified and saved for reference when needed.

As an undiagnosed adhd, I can confirm that i won't drink it if it doesn't have a STRAW.

I have adhd, and without knowing I did all of these steps myself already! So happy to see I’m not alone, your channel really feels like a safe space! <3

1. Reset body, give new sensory input like change clothes
2. Drink water
3. Move body (walk?)
4. Tidy A Space e.g. work space
5. Add new smell, e.g. scented candle
6. Add dopamine, e.g. by doing a hobby/interest

(I need this list to reference back to when I'm having a day like this, as written instructions)

Okay... I've come to the realisation that i probably have ADHD. Never heard of a dopamine crash. This happens every day to me.

I didn't realize how much just changing your hair and clothes could make a difference. That sensory I'ma have to give that a go!!!

I have autism and ADHD and I didn't know that when I put my hair up and change clothes, that was why it was helping me feel better. I never really realized it was because of my sensory issues.

Thank you. Idk why but I've had ADHD my whole life and no one has given me any advice on combating this. I get dopamine crashes really bad. Probably because I also have manic depression. I feel like this might help so thank you!
