make sure you leave 1 rep in the tank folks. you can't do those sets to failure.

I currently weigh 175lbs and I bench 155lbs and I do 4 sets of 5 for a total of 20 reps. I am proud of how far I come and cant wait to hit 165

My advice: Choose a weight you can only do 3 good reps of. Bench at that weight until you can lift it for 6 reps. Repeat the process.

here's a few tips that worked for me getting past my bench plateau: Do dumbbell bench too. Try working slower and controlled, especially on the eccentric. Drop the weight for a week or two and do higher reps. Try special techniques like drop sets. Warm up your lats beforehand. Add a set to your chest exercises. Finally, if you're already doing all of this....take a week off. I know it sounds counterproductive, but it works.

This is facts when I did this I was almost benching 315 at 185lbs but I stoped that training and I’m back to 225 haha

I used to bench a 100 lbs like a month ago. I started doing this, so 85 lbs 5 reps for 4 sets. Then next week i tried for 105 and got it. Week after that i did 90 for 5 reps (4 sets). And so the week after that(this week) i hit 115. This works for sure and i would highly recommend for people to do.

got 225 from former bench 185 straight off the jump i went for strength training 6-8 reps and prioritized protein in all my meals

The best advice is just to keep working out. You'll make progress regardless unless you're going for crazy bench press weight, i went from benching like 165lbs max from the first day, now 2 and a half months later to 205lbs already and I originally wasnt trying to go for heavy weight, I just kept going to the gym 3 times a week, now that I'm at 205 I'm starting to go for heavier weight, i want to hit 225.
It does get harder the heavier you go though
Im 5'2 btw so its pretty heavy as it is for me 😂

I'd do 80% of 1 rm and do the reps and if u cant do 1 more I'd just pause until I can do another rep and repeat until I hit 20 reps

What he saying is stop doing sets of 6-8+10
If you want strength and to push through that platou you need to lift heavy. Low reps heavy weight. Alternate strength week with volume week for best results

Essentrics are everything🙏🏻 anyone can move weights, it’s how you control them, that’s what impresses people. Anyone can bench 225 for one rep, but a pause rep, that means something. No momentum, just raw strength.
