Would recommend AGAINST this method, if you are going to have multiple objects to interact with.

your outliner will be chaotic, and depends on how you duplicate the object, your save file will turn massive.
There are no shortcuts in this method, You create custom properties in your scene, Copy them as driver to a "Child of" constraint of your object you want to move and toggle them on and off.

Thanks. I had no idea you could set keyframes for viewport and render visibility. I just never tried it.

Now that is amazing! I wondered how people animated characters holding an object. I’ll try that.

There's got to be a better way to do this than duplicating. As other people mentioned, it's new to me that you can keyframe visibility and I think I could find that useful. However, over a decade ago I was using Animation:Master before I discovered blender. I had an animated computer doing teaching and she was manipulating a whole pile of objects: picking up, putting down, re-arranging and even tossing them off the table. I never used duplication for this purpose.

I think you can do this with Child Of constraint better. You just adjust the influence of the constraint along the timeline.

Welp, I had no idea you can keyframe visibility that easy, I would've done the lest reliable way of animating the Alpha property in the BSDF to 0.

This is useful, although only for something your character is holding at all times. All I did was make the object parented to the bone then it worked.

Is there a way to have it so the models don’t clip with each other? So like if I try directing the hand trough a cube it will just smack against the cube rather than clipping into it?
