Priests, if you're reading this-- couple of things you can do to help us parishioners: 1. Ask the organist to keep playing for a few minutes after Mass ends. It drowns out the hustle of people leaving/talking and helps us pray. 2. Remind people before Mass to not talk in the Sanctuary and just wait until they get outside. Our OCD priests did this often and it worked. Thank you for considering this.

I get there early, but so does everyone else, and they all chit chat with each other. I stay a bit after, but they chit chat with each other then too. I've only gone to a few Masses at this church, I'm not sure if the noise and talking is normal for them or not. There's only one other Catholic church in my area, and it's kind of far away, so finding a different church isn't really an option. I'm hoping that maybe if I go extra early it will be quiet and I will be able to pray with less distraction.

I don’t think five minutes is enough to sufficiently prepare oneself before Mass, it should be at least 15 minutes.

Please, I love children and most parishes have ‘ Cry Chapel’ in the church, please if you have children, don’t let them disturb those partaking in the Holy Mass.

3 things to do at mass (as a family):

1. show up to church dressed
2. prevent too many toys/toddlers from entering the altar area or at least injuries sustained from falling off benches
3. leave and come back just in time for the Eucharist, so other people can hear the homily
