I actually don't have an issue with the price of the PS5 Pro. It's definitely not an attractive price point but I would buy one if there was actually good games to play. My issue with the PS5 Pro is that there is no games to play on it. There has only been a few decent games since the PS5 released. Most of them weren't even Playstation exclusives. So to me there is no point in buying the PS5 Pro when there are no games to play. Sony should be focusing more on creating good games than creating hardware with minimal upgrades.

It's really annoying how every Youtuber quotes the same inaccurate data.
I've done a comparable PC build similar to the PS5 Pro in the US, Australia, South Africa and the Czech Republic and the PC was always cheaper! Especially outside the US where the PS5 Pro is priced the lowest. For example, in the Czech Republic you get a PC, keyboard, mouse, Windows license and even an Xbox Series X controller, and the build is still $40 cheaper than the PS5 Pro! AND YES, IT HAS THE SAME PERFORMANCE AS THE PS5 PRO! I can send you all the data, if you don't believe it.
No, the PS5 Pro is not an RTX 4070! The Nvidia card is about 11% stronger in raw performance and about 20% better in upscaling (DLSS) and RT.
And no, the Pro is not Nvidia. It's still just AMD's own GPU with known weaknesses. Digital Foundry found PSSR to be better than FSR but worse than DLSS. Nvidia-level ray tracing hasn't been found yet either. It's somewhere in the middle.
Nvidia is typically 30% better at RT and upscaling than AMD. So the PS5 Pro is only about 15% better in upscaling and RT than a similar AMD card.
However, this performance boost only applies to PSSR and RT enhanced games. Sony expects to have an update for 50 older games at launch. And by the way zero brand new games. The problem is there are over 4, 000 Playstation 5 games in the store. Therefore, the improvement only affects 1.25% of them. And adoption will be slow. For example, there are only 50 RT games for the PS5. Four years after launch. And even big games like Red Dead Redemption 2 are still stuck in the PS4 era and 30 FPS. And that won't change automatically just because the PS5 Pro hits the market.

Yep. Maybe real time ray tracing just isn't clever enough yet. A slight change on the main chip and doubling the storage doesn't justify doubling the price.

Xbox is so gonna counter this. Just like sony did last gen... the irony

I completely agree with you on Ray Tracing.
I always turn RT to do a benchmark test on any game I install, then immediately turn it off because I can almost never tell if its on or off apart from the PC fans are working a lot louder.
It's been great for showing off how old games can look better with it or some other niche tech demo. But its a waste of resources for most games
