The PS5 Pro is a Wake Up Call

(sorry Legendary Drops... it's a good title xD)
PS5 Pro just dropped and it dropped like a rock... seems like the best marketing to go to PC Gaming.

Overall the consensus has been poor- barely a noticeable leap over the base PS5. Most people can't even tell the graphical difference and the price of $700 USD is absolutely absurd. However! Would everything be much better received if there were actually impressive games the justify the hardware?

I was actually able to tell every time which is the pro, but it's not worth paying 1200 canuck dollars including disc and stand + taxes. it's just plain idiotic.

Went 6/6 on the ps5 pro quiz. So there is a difference, but to change your entire console for a foliage detail increase is rather dumb.

The PS5 Pro is supposed to be the definitive edition, but it's missing two huge features that a normal PS5 has. The disc drive, and the stand.

Nintendo figured this out years ago. Focus on games and collectables. Racing for the best graphics is like charging hundreds of dollars for more detailed glare on your chess pieces and thinking people will get rid of their classic chess set.

The thing is. I saw the difference only after you started zooming which isnt indicative of the gameplay experience. You can mostly tell from the sharpness of the grass but you have to be actively looking for it.

The PS5 "digital" version was $400. Doesn't come with a disc drive.
The PS5 "pro" version is $700. Also doesn't come with a disc drive.

Playstation is just turning into Apple at this point
-leeching on his consumerbase
-overcharging for minor technological improvements
-seeling basic attachments separately
-removing core features just because (aka disc drive / audio port)

1.The fastest, and easiest way to get into pc gaming is to buy a steam deck.
2.They can't really take away games on the PC without opening a massive can of worms. It would trigger mass piracy, and publishers would lose what little control of the space they have. Remember, as long as you have the files, you have the game. DRM or not.

Here in Brazil, games are cheaper on Steam
For some unknown reason, Space Marines 2 is 200BRL on steam and 350BRL on consoles, for the base edition

Not every game is like that, but games are usually cheaper on PC
